Mark Goddard (racing Driver)
Mark Goddard is the current Team Principal of Eurasia Motorsport and is a former racing driver. He is also the team proprietor of Team Eurasia, formerly known as Team Goddard and Minardi Team Asia. The team races in Formula BMW Asia, Formula V6 Asia by Renault and the Asian Formula Three Championship. History Mark competed in Formula Ford in the UK, finishing third in the 1984 Esso Formula Ford Championship. He graduated to British Formula 3, finishing third in the B Class series in 1985. He went on to race and win in the British Formula Forward Championship, TVR Tuscan Challenge and Production GT. He also finished second in the Benelux Opel Lotus Championship, competed in several British Touring Cars Races winning the 1600cc Class at Donington Park. He also raced in the 1987 British Renault 5 Turbo Championship. Goddard was the Chief Instructor at the Silverstone Motor Racing School. Team Eurasia
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. As defined by Professor Leigh Thompson of the Kellogg School of Management, " team is a group of people who are interdependent with respect to information, resources, knowledge and skills and who seek to combine their efforts to achieve a common goal". A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Minardi Team Asia
Minardi was an Italian automobile racing team and constructor founded in Faenza in 1979 by Giancarlo Minardi. It competed in the Formula One World Championship from 1985 until 2005 with little success, nevertheless acquiring a loyal following of fans. In 2001, to save the team from folding, Minardi sold it to Australian businessman Paul Stoddart, who ran the team for five years before selling it on to Red Bull GmbH in 2005 who renamed it Scuderia Toro Rosso. From 2001, all of Minardi chassis were called "PS" then a number, the PS being the initials of team owner, Paul Stoddart. During its time in F1, the team scored a total of 38 championship points; 16 of these were earned by the team's first driver, Pierluigi Martini. Martini also recorded the team's only front row start, qualifying 2nd at the 1990 United States Grand Prix, and he led a lap during the 1989 Portuguese Grand Prix, the only time a Minardi led a lap. Asian Formula Three Championship
The Asian Formula Three Championship was a single-seater racing series based in South East Asia. It is one of a number of national and international Formula Three championships that form part of an established "career ladder" below Formula One. It was most recently promoted as the Asian F3 Pacific Series. The 2009 series collapsed through a lack of competitors with some teams dispersing to other Formula 3 series in the region. Creation and management The creators of the Asian F3 Championship intended the series to provide young Asian drivers with a stepping stone to the higher levels of single-seater motor racing. Asia has not traditionally had the motor racing profile and career ladder from which European drivers benefit.
