Mark Chu
Mark Bo Chu (born May 12, 1989) is an Australian multidisciplinary artist and writer. His public murals are shown in Atlantic City and Melbourne, and he has held painting exhibitions in Melbourne, Shanghai and New York, often focusing on the human figure. Chu's 2013 debut solo show exhibited specimens of his own dandruff and in 2019 he undertook the Q Bank Gallery Residency in Queenstown, Tasmania. In contributions to scientific research, Chu has co-authored papers in Elsevier's Cognition (journal), the International Committee on Computational Linguistics Conference, the Association for Computing Machinery's Creativity and Cognition Conference, and the Association for Computational Linguistics. In 2019 he graduated from the Santa Fe Institute's Complex Systems Summer School where he co-founded the aesthetics research collective Comp-syn who were 2021 European Commission STARTS Prize semifinalists. A mural is any piece of graphic artwork that is painted or applied directly to a wall, ceiling or other permanent substrate. Mural techniques include fresco, mosaic, graffiti and marouflage. Chu Anping
Chu Anping (, 1909–1966?) was a Chinese scholar, liberal journalist and editor of ''Guancha'' (观察, The Observer) in the Civil War era of the late 1940s. He is widely considered to be one of the most famous liberals in China. He was Editor of the China Democratic League newspaper "for intellectuals", the '' Guangming Daily'', in the PRC era. Following publication of his article entitled "The Party Dominates the World", he was attacked by Mao Zedong in the Hundred Flowers Campaign of 1957 and purged during the Anti-Rightist Movement. It is believed that he committed suicide in 1966. He was father to Chu Wanghua (), a contemporary Chinese composer based in Australia, and grandfather to Mark Chu, a multidisciplinary artist. ''Cognition: International Journal of Cognitive Science'' is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering cognitive science. It was established in 1972 and is published by Elsevier.
