Mariya Koroleva
Mariya Koroleva (born April 10, 1990) is a Russian-born American synchronized swimmer. After emigrating to the United States, Koroleva began participating in synchronized swimming, and competed at Stanford University. She was a member of the teams that won silver medals in the duet and team competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. She competed at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. Biography Koroleva was born on April 10, 1990, in Yaroslavl, Russia, Yaroslavl, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, to Svetlana and Nikolay Korolev, and later emigrated with her family to the United States, settling in Concord, California. There, she began to compete in national youth competitions in synchronized swimming. After being accepted to Stanford University, she experienced considerable success in collegiate and national competitions. Synchronized Swimming
Synchronized swimming (in British English, synchronised swimming) or artistic swimming is a sport where swimmers perform a synchronized choreographed routine, accompanied by music. The sport is governed internationally by FINA (the ''Fédération internationale de natation'' or International Swimming Federation). It is traditionally a women's sport, although FINA introduced a new mixed gender duet competition that included one male swimmer in each duet at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and LEN introduced men's individual events at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships. Concord ( ) is the largest city in Contra Costa County, California. Anita M. Alvarez (born January 16, 1960) is the former State's Attorney for Cook County, Illinois, United States. Alvarez was the first Hispanic woman elected to this position, after being the first Latina to win the Democratic nomination for state's attorney of Cook County. Background A Chicago native, Alvarez was born and raised in the Pilsen neighborhood. She attended Maria High School and received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1982. John Arthur Cox IV (born July 6, 1981) is a Venezuelan-American professional basketball player. He is 1.96 m (6'5") tall, and he weighs 89 kg (195 lbs.). College career Cox played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons.
