John Cox (basketball, Born 1981)
John Arthur Cox IV (born July 6, 1981) is a Venezuelan-American professional basketball player. He is 1.96 m (6'5") tall, and he weighs 89 kg (195 lbs.). College career Cox played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons. He ended his career there as one of its all-time top scorers, lifting the team to a 2005 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) appearance. Professional career Cox has played pro basketball in France's top-tier level, the LNB Pro A, and in Europe's top-tier level, the EuroLeague. On April 15, 2017, Cox signed with the French team Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez. National team career Cox has represented Venezuela internationally on multiple occasions. Metropolitans 92 is a French professional basketball club that is based in Levallois-Perret, in the Paris metropolitan area. FIBA AmeriCup
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organised the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA World Cup and the Summer Olympic Games. John Arthur "Chubby" Cox III (born December 29, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player. Cox was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1978 NBA draft and played for the Washington Bullets for one season. He played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats and San Francisco Dons. Life and career Cox was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A 6'2" guard, Cox attended Roxborough High School in Philadelphia. He played two years at Villanova University and then starred at the University of San Francisco (USF), where he still ranks among the Top 10 in single-season assists. He was drafted in the 8th round (7th pick) by the NBA's Chicago Bulls in 1978. The men's basketball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games was held in Toronto, Canada at the Ryerson Athletic Centre from July 21 to 25. For these Games, the men competed in an 8-team tournament. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each group will advance to a single elimination bracket. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B.
