Mariusz Krzysztof Czerkawski (pronounced ; born 13 April 1972) is a Polish former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. In addition to playing in the NHL, Czerkawski played for several different European-based teams. A consistent scorer, Czerkawski was the first player born and trained in Poland to play in the NHL. Internationally, Czerkawski represented Poland at several international tournaments, including the 1992 Winter Olympics and the 1992 and 2002 World Championships. Mariusz Wodzicki (Count Wodzicki) (born 1956) is a Polish mathematician and nobleman, whose works primarily focus on analysis, algebraic k-theory, noncommutative geometry, and algebraic geometry. Wodzicki was born in Bytom, Poland in 1956. He received a MSc from Moscow State University in 1980, and he completed his doctoral degree in 1984 at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics in Moscow under the advisement of Yuri Manin (Spectral Asymmetry and Zeta-Functions). In 1985–1986 he was a research assistant at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, after which he became an assistant professor at the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mariusz Krzysztof Siudek (Polish pronunciation: ; born 29 April 1972 in Oświęcim) is a retired Polish pair skater who competed with wife Dorota Siudek (Zagórska). They are the 1999 World bronze medalists, two-time (1999, 2000) European silver medalists and two-time (2004, 2007) European bronze medalists. They were the first Polish pair to win a medal at the World Championships. They now coach together in Toruń, Poland. Career Siudek was introduced to figure skating by his sister.
