Marit Greve
Marit Greve (née Nansen, 8 November 1928 – 26 March 2021) was a Norwegian jurist, book publisher and politician for the Conservative Party. Personal life She was a daughter of Kari and Odd Nansen, granddaughter of Eva and Fridtjof Nansen. and a sister of Eigil Nansen. In 1954 she married historian and diplomat Tim Greve, and was a sister-in-law of Egil Gade Greve. They resided at Fornebu in Bærum, incidentally in the road ''Fridtjof Nansens vei''. Career She took the cand.jur. degree in 1955, but spent her career in publishing houses. She was an editor in the encyclopedic department of Aschehougs Forlag, later Kunnskapsforlaget. She was elected to Bærum municipal council in 1967 and Akershus county council in 1975. She served three terms in the county council. In 1987 she was selected as the first female chair of Bærum Conservative Party, but she only served for one year. The Conservative Party or The Right ( nb, Høyre, nn, Høgre, , H; se, Olgešbellodat) is a liberal-conservative political party in Norway. Akershus
Akershus () is a traditional region and current electoral district in Norway, with Oslo as its main city and traditional capital. It is named after the Akershus Fortress in Oslo. From the middle ages to 1919, Akershus was a fief and main county that included most of Eastern Norway, and from the 17th century until 2020, Akershus also had a more narrow meaning as a (sub) county that included most of the Greater Oslo Region. Amnesty International (also referred to as Amnesty or AI) is an international non-governmental organization focused on human rights, with its headquarters in the United Kingdom. The organization says it has more than ten million members and supporters around the world. Norwegian Maritime Museum
The Norwegian Maritime Museum ( no, Norsk Maritimt Museum) is located at Bygdøynesveien on the Bygdøy peninsula, on the western side of Oslo, Norway. The Norwegian Maritime Museum is situated near several other museums, including the Fram Museum; the Kon-Tiki Museum; the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History; and the Viking Ship Museum. The Norwegian Maritime Museum is operated in conjunction with Norwegian Folk Museum. Overview The museum was founded in 1914 and previously known as the ''Norsk Sjøfartsmuseum''. Fram (ship)
''Fram'' ("Forward") is a ship that was used in expeditions of the Arctic and Antarctic regions by the Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, Oscar Wisting, and Roald Amundsen between 1893 and 1912. It was designed and built by the Scottish-Norwegian shipwright Colin Archer for Fridtjof Nansen's 1893 Arctic expedition in which the plan was to freeze ''Fram'' into the Arctic ice sheet and float with it over the North Pole. ''Fram'' is preserved as a museum ship at the Fram Museum in Oslo, Norway. Construction Nansen's ambition was to explore the Arctic farther north than anyone else. To do that, he would have to deal with a problem that many sailing on the polar ocean had encountered before him: the freezing ice could crush a ship.
