Marion Lipschutz is an Americans, American documentary producer, writer, and director. Lipschutz has directed and produced award-winning documentaries, including BEI BEI, ''The Education of Shelby Knox'' and ''Young Lakota''. Marion Lipschutz works alongside Rose Rosenblatt as the co-director and producer of Incite Pictures the for profit arm of Cine Qua Non(a not for profit). She produces and directs feature documentaries that entertain, educate and explore critical contemporary issues. Cine Qua Non Lipschutz co-directed and produced the 1997 PBS documentary ''The Abortion Pill'', a documentary about the controversial French drug RU-486. Lipschutz co-directed and produced, Fatherhood USA, a three-part series looking at fatherhood in the nineties. The documentary aired on PBS in 1998 and was hosted by Senator Bill Bradley. American Indian Film Festival
The American Indian Film Festival is an annual non-profit film festival in San Francisco, California, United States. It is the world's oldest venue dedicated solely to Native American/First Nations films and prepared the way for the 1979 formation of the American Indian Film Institute. According to the Institute, the Festival was first presented in Seattle, Washington in 1975 and moved in 1977 to San Francisco, where it remains today. In 1979, the Festival was incorporated. Over 3,100 films have been screened from Native American/First Nations communities in the U.S. and Canada, and the festival includes events such as film screenings, panel discussions, an awards ceremony and networking events. "Live Free or Die" is the official motto of the U.S. state of New Hampshire, adopted by the state in 1945. It is possibly the best-known of all state mottos, partly because it conveys an assertive independence historically found in American political philosophy and partly because of its contrast to the milder sentiments found in other state mottos. The phrase was adopted from a toast written by General John Stark, New Hampshire's most famous soldier of the American Revolutionary War, on July 31, 1809. The Red Nation Film Festival is a film festival focused on films about indigenous people. The festival was founded in 1995 and is curated by Joanelle Romero. History The Red Nation Film Festival was founded in 1995 by Joanelle Romero, also its curator. It is run by Red Nation Celebration Institute, also founded in 1995, which also manages Red Nation Television Network. At the 2011 festival, Russell Means was given the Oyate Wayanka Po Win Lifetime Achievement Award, while Michael Jackson posthumously received the Red Nation Humanitarian Award and Jerry Brown the American Indian Heritage Month Award. In 2020, the festival was held virtually due to the pandemic.
