Marion Downs Station
Marion Downs Station, often just referred to as Marion Downs, is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in Queensland, Australia. Description The station is located about south west of Boulia and north of Birdsville in the Channel Country of Central West Queensland. It occupies the entirety of the locality of Amaroo in the Shires of Boulia and Diamantina, extending to a small extent into some of the neighbouring localities. The property is well watered by the Georgina, Burke, Hamilton and Mulligan Rivers. The land varies from floodplains to open rolling downs vegetated with Mitchell and Flinders grasses and to desert country of the Simpson Desert along the western boundary. Pastoral Lease
A pastoral lease, sometimes called a pastoral run, is an arrangement used in both Australia and New Zealand where government-owned Crown land is leased out to graziers for the purpose of livestock grazing on rangelands. Australia Pastoral leases exist in both Australian commonwealth law and state jurisdictions. They do not give all the rights that attach to freehold land: there are usually conditions which include a time period and the type of activity permitted. Simpson Desert
The Simpson Desert is a large area of dry, red sandy plain and dunes in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland in central Australia. It is the fourth-largest Deserts of Australia, Australian desert, with an area of . The desert is underlain by the Great Artesian Basin, one of the largest inland drainage areas in the world. James MacKinnon (cricketer)
James Curdie MacKinnon (10 January 1865 – 4 July 1957) was an Australian first-class cricketer. McKinnon was born at Terang, Victoria to Daniel Mackinnon, a member of a well known pioneering pastoral family. He was educated at Geelong Grammar School, before going to England to study at Trinity Hall at the University of Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge he made his debut in first-class cricket for the Gentlemen of England against Cambridge University at Fenner's in 1886. He made his debut for Cambridge University in the same season against Yorkshire at Sheffield, with MacKinnon playing one further match for Cambridge in 1886, followed by two matches in 1887. In five first-class appearances, he scored 31 runs and took 4 wickets. After graduating he returned to Australia and joined the firm Strachan, Murray, and Shannon at Geelong. Donald Mackinnon
Donald Mackinnon (29 September 1859 – 25 April 1932) was an Australian politician. Early life Born at Marida Yallock near Boorcan in Victoria to grazier David Mackinnon and Jane Kinross, both Scottish-born, he was educated at Geelong Grammar School, Melbourne University and New College, Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. In 1883 he was called to the English Bar, returning to Victoria to repeat the achievement in 1884. At his father's death in 1889 he took over the family property, and also acquired grazing property in New South Wales and Queensland. On 19 August 1891 he married Hilda Eleanor Marie Bunny, sister of the artist Rupert Bunny; they had five children. ''The Morning Bulletin'' is an online newspaper servicing the city of Rockhampton and the surrounding areas of Central Queensland, Australia. From 1861 to 2020, ''The Morning Bulletin'' was published as a print edition, before then becoming an exclusively online newspaper. The final print edition was published on 27 June 2020. Cattle

Headingly Station often just referred to as Headingly is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station. It is located about south of Camooweal and west of Dajarra in Queensland. The property occupies an area of of Queensland's Gulf country and is able to carry a herd of approximately 40,000 Santa Gertrudis cattle. It is currently owned by the Australian Agricultural Company. The station is composed of black soil downs country with some timbered area scattered throughout along the Georgina River, ample feed is available to the stock in the form of Mitchell and Flinders grasses.
