Mario Mayén Meza
Mario Ernesto Mayén Meza (born 19 May 1968) is a retired Salvadoran professional footballer. Club career Mayén Meza has played for three of the 'Big Four' of Salvadoran football: Alianza, FAS and Águila. He finished his career at San Salvador F.C., with whom he won their first league title. International career Nicknamed ''el Negro'', Mayén made his debut for El Salvador in an April 1991 UNCAF Nations Cup qualification match against Nicaragua and has earned a total of 36 caps, scoring no goals. He has represented his country in 6 FIFA World Cup qualification matches and played at the 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1997 UNCAF Nations Cups as well as at the 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup His final international match was a May 1997 World Cup qualification match against Jamaica. La Libertad, La Libertad
La Libertad (English: ''Liberty'') is a municipality in the La Libertad Department of El Salvador. It had a population of 35,997 inhabitants in 2007 according to the official census of that year. It is one of the main tourist attractions in the country. History In 1770 this area was referred to by Pedro Cortes, the Archbishop of Guatemala (1776–1779), as the "hacienda Tepeahua", one of the largest estates in the parish of San Jacinto. The Jamaica national football team, nicknamed the "Reggae Boyz", represents Jamaica in international football. The team's first match was against Haiti in 1925. The squad is under the supervising body of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), which is a member of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), and the global jurisdiction of FIFA. Jamaica's home matches have been played at Independence Park since its opening in 1962. The 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the third edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). The tournament returned to the United States and California; the games were hosted by Los Angeles, San Diego, and Anaheim. The format of the tournament changed from 1993: it was expanded to nine teams, separated into three groups of three and played in January as opposed to the 1993 edition which was played in July. The top team in each group, plus the best second-place finisher would advance to the semifinals. For the first time, a non-CONCACAF team was invited: Brazil, who sent their under-23 side.
