Wilmer Velásquez
Wilmer Raynel Neal Velásquez (born April 28, 1972) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a forward. He was regarded as one of the greatest footballers in Honduran soccer for Olimpia, and by foremost as the nation's greatest striker ever alongside Carlos Pavón. He is currently the all-time top goalscorer in the Honduran National Football League with 196 goals, and was the second player to reach 150 goals after Denilson Costa. Club career Nicknamed ''El Matador'', Velásquez started his professional career with Olimpia and he would not play for any other Honduran team during his career. He made his debut on 1 November 1990 against Platense and scored his first goal on 23 January 1992 against city rivals Motagua. He did play for other teams though, with Concepción in Chile, Sport-Recife in Brazil and Atlas in Mexico but was not very successful with all of them. Estadio Mateo Flores
The Estadio Nacional Doroteo Guamuch Flores is a multi-use national stadium in Guatemala City, the largest venue in Guatemala. It was built in 1948, to host the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1950, and was renamed after long-distance runner Doroteo Guamuch Flores, winner of the 1952 Boston Marathon. It has a capacity of 26,000 seats. Used mostly for football (soccer) matches, the stadium has hosted the majority of the home matches of the Guatemala national football team throughout its history, and is the home of local football club Comunicaciones F.C. The venue is operated by the '' Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala'' (CDAG). One of the worst disasters ever to occur in a sports venue took place at the stadium in 1996, when 83 people were killed because of a human avalanche on the stands. Rolando Fonseca Jiménez (born 6 June 1974) is a former Costa Rican professional footballer who played as a forward. Waldir Guerra
Waldir Guerra (born April 2, 1967 in San Vicente) is a retired Salvadoran footballer who played for the El Salvador national football team during his career. Club career Guerra arrived in the USA as a refugee in 1982 and attended Bells High School for whom he scored 117 goals in his first three years, which was a record. As a senior, he played for American Professional Soccer League side Los Angeles Heat until they went out of business in 1990. Three years later he played for Los Angeles Salsa for whom he scored once in 22 matches in his first season. He returned to his native El Salvador in 1997 to play for Águila. He topped the goalscoring charts of the 1999 Apertura. International career Guerra made his debut for El Salvador in an April 1997 friendly match against Guatemala in which he immediately scored a goal, and has earned a total of 13 caps, scoring 3 goals. Milton Núñez
Milton Omar Núñez García (born October 30, 1972) is a retired Honduran footballer. Nuñez played a few seasons in Honduras before moving abroad to play for Comunicaciones in Guatemala and for Nacional in Uruguay. He then briefly appeared for PAOK in the Superleague Greece and for Sunderland in the Premier League. Club career Early career Born in Sambo Creek, Honduras, Nuñez played a few seasons in Honduras with Deportes Progreseño and Real España before moving abroad to play for Guatemalan side Comunicaciones and for Uruguayan club Nacional. Amado Guevara
Amado Guevara (born 2 May 1976) is a Honduran former professional footballer and manager. He was the coach of Puerto Rico from 2018 to 2019. A former midfielder, he is the second all-time cap leader for the Honduras national team seconded by Maynor Figueroa . He was selected as the Best Player of the 2001 Copa América, held in Colombia. Juan Manuel Funes
Juan Manuel Funes Fernández (born May 16, 1966), popularly known as ''Memín'' Funes is a Guatemalan football coach and former midfielder who played professionally for the three most successful clubs in Guatemala – Aurora F.C., Municipal, and Comunicaciones – and became a member and later captain of the Guatemala national team, which he represented in five World Cup qualification processes. Edwin Rodolfo Westphal Véliz (born 4 March 1966) is a Guatemalan former professional footballer who played as a forward. As a member of several clubs, he was a prolific goalscorer in the Guatemalan top-flight, especially during the 1990s. He was also a member of the Guatemala national team. Club career A native of Puerto Barrios, Westphal began his career playing for local club ''Bandegua'' (Bananera de Guatemala, later renamed DelMonte), making his '' Liga Mayor'' debut in 1985 at the age of 18. While playing for Bandegua, the big striker was the top scorer of the 1987 championship. Later, he played for ''Izabal JC'', where he won another goalscoring title.
