Mario Cecchi Gori
Mario Cecchi Gori (; 21 March 1920, in Florence – 5 November 1993, in Rome) was an Italian film producer and owner of companies. He produced over 200 films, notably with Damiano Damiani, Dino Risi (''The Easy Life'', ''I Mostri'') and Ettore Scola. Gabriele Salvatores' film ''Mediterraneo'' won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. With ''Lamerica'', directed by Gianni Amelio, he received the Best Film Award at European Film Awards in 1994. '' Il Postino: The Postman'' (1995, directed by Michael Radford) was the first Italian film to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Film. From 1990 to his death, he was the president of Fiorentina. His son Vittorio Cecchi Gori is also a film producer. The Postman
''The Postman'' is a post-apocalyptic dystopia science fiction novel by David Brin. It is about a man wandering the desolate Oregon countryside who finds a United States Postal Service uniform, which he puts on and then claims he is a mail carrier and federal inspector for the "Restored United States of America". His mail service and claims about the return of a central government gives hope to the people, who are threatened by a murderous, neofascist militia. The first two parts were published separately as "The Postman" (1982) and "Cyclops" (1984). In 1997, a film adaptation of the novel was released starring Kevin Costner and Will Patton. ''Vacation with a Gangster'' (Italian: ''Vacanze col gangster'') is a 1951 Italian comedy film directed by Dino Risi and starring Marc Lawrence, Giovanna Pala and Terence Hill. Plot A man sentenced to 20 years in prison in the Monteforte prison, while working on creating toys for children, puts a note in a papier-mâché horse in which he claims to have been unjustly imprisoned and appeals to anyone who reads the message to get him out of captivity. The horse, after alternating events, is collected in pieces in the hands of five schoolmates, Gianni, Andrea, Mario, Ugo and Nino, who find the note written by the prisoner. Vittorio Cecchi Gori (; born 27 April 1942) is an Italian film producer and politician. He pleaded guilty to bankruptcy and was sentenced in February 2020 to 8 years and 5 months of imprisonment. Born in Florence, Italy he is the son of Mario Cecchi Gori. He has produced numerous films, most notably '' Il Postino: The Postman'' (1994), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and ''Life Is Beautiful'' (1997) which received an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
