Marina Confait
Marina Fatima Confait is a Seychellois retired civil servant. She served as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Seychelles from March 2012 to February 2014, and as Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2021. Biography Confait's first role was in January 1977 as a secondary school teacher. She went on to work in a variety of ministries. She also served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Human Resources Development Council (NHRDC). She studied at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel, completing her degree in 1997. In March 2012, she was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Seychelles. In February 2014, she resigned to pursue her PhD at Edith Cowan University, graduating in 2018. Rolph Payet
Rolph Antoine Payet FRGS (born 4 August 1968) is an international policy expert, researcher and speaker on environment, climate and island issues, and was the first President & Vice-Chancellor of the University of Seychelles. He was Minister of Environment and Energy in the Cabinet of Seychelles from 2012 to 2014. He is currently United Nations Executive Secretary for the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention. Personal life Payet was born in Seychelles. He grew up in Rochon, a suburb of the capital, Victoria. As young boy he dreamed of becoming a scientist. University of Seychelles, informally also called UniSey, is the primary institution of higher education in Seychelles. It was established on 17 September 2009. There are three campuses: the main campus at Anse Royale, the Mont Fleuri campus offering education, communication, and technology programs, and the Ma Joie campus offering business programs. In 2014, the university announced a partnership for collaboration and student exchanges with Gibraltar, which is developing its own first university. The ''Katholieke Universiteit Brussel'' (English: Catholic University of Brussels) was a Flemish university located in Brussels, founded in 1969 as ''University Faculties St Aloysius'' (UFSAL), in many ways the equivalent of a liberal arts college. It split up from the primarily French-speaking Saint-Louis University, Brussels to become an independent Dutch-speaking institution.
