Marilyn Nash
Marilyn Nash (October 26, 1926 – October 6, 2011) was an American actress and casting director. She was best known for starring in the 1947 Charlie Chaplin film ''Monsieur Verdoux''. Early life Nash was born in Flint, Michigan, and attended the University of Arizona with the intention of pursuing medicine as her chosen career. However, her professional career path changed when she traveled to Los Angeles with her mother while attending Arizona. Career By chance, Nash met Charlie Chaplin while playing tennis at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Chaplin quickly signed Nash as an actress in his Charlie Chaplin Studios. He then cast her in his black comedy ''Monsieur Verdoux'', which was released in 1947. Nash appeared in just one other film during her career, the 1951 science fiction adventure ''Unknown World'', in which she portrayed a doctor. ''Unknown World'' (a.k.a. ''Night Without Stars'') is a 1951 independently made American black-and-white science fiction adventure film, directed by Terrell O. Morse, and starring Bruce Kellogg, Marilyn Nash, Jim Bannon, and Otto Waldis. Distributed by Lippert Pictures, it was produced by Irving A. Block and Jack Rabin. The film concerns a scientific expedition seeking livable space deep beneath the Earth's surface in the event a nuclear war makes living above ground impossible. The ''Chico Enterprise-Record'' is the daily newspaper of Chico, California. Also known as the E-R, the newspaper was first published in Bidwell Bar, California as the Butte Record in 1853 and is now part of the MediaNews Group corporation, who took control of the paper from Donrey in 1999. Donrey had owned the paper since March 14, 1983. The paper has a circulation of less than 10,000 and also publishes supplements, like "The North Valley Employment Guide", "The Real Estate Guide", "HomeStyle Magazine." Editions of the Enterprise-Record include the ''Oroville Mercury-Register''. Throughout its history as the Enterprise-Record, the newspaper has never missed a scheduled publication day. William Castle
William Castle (born William Schloss Jr.; April 24, 1914 – May 31, 1977) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Orphaned at 11, Castle dropped out of high school at 15 to work in the theater. He came to the attention of Columbia Pictures for his talent for promotion and was hired. He learned the trade of filmmaking and became a director, acquiring a reputation for the ability to churn out competent B-movies quickly and on budget. He eventually struck out on his own, producing and directing Thriller (genre), thrillers, which, despite their low budgets, he effectively promoted using film promotion, gimmicks, a trademark for which he is best known. ''The Outlaw Josey Wales'' is a 1976 American Revisionist Western film set during and after the American Civil War.
