Marijn Ververs
Marijn Ververs (born 17 September 1998) is a Dutch basketball player for ZZ Leiden of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). Professional career Ververs, a product of the ZZ Leiden youth academy, made his professional debut with the senior team the 2016–17 season under coach Paul Vervaeck. In June 2020, Ververs signed a 2-year extension with Leiden. In the 2020–21 season, he was named captain of the team. In the 2020–21 season, he won his first DBL championship with Leiden. On 14 June 2022, Ververs extended his contract with Leiden for three more seasons, until 2025. He won his second national championship in 2023. National team career In the summer of 2021, Ververs was selected for the 20-man preliminary team of the Netherlands national basketball team. He played his first international match for the Orange Lions against Russia in Perm on 24 February 2022. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. EuroBasket 2022
The EuroBasket 2022 was the 41st edition of the EuroBasket championship organized by FIBA Europe. It was the first since it was agreed it would take place every four years, with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. It was originally scheduled to take place between 2 and 19 September 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to 2021, it was postponed to September 2022. Like the previous two editions, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, and Italy. The knock-out phase was played in Berlin, Germany. Perm, Russia
Perm (russian: Пермь, p=pʲermʲ), previously known as Yagoshikha (Ягошиха) (1723–1781), and Molotov (Молотов) (1940–1957), is the largest city and the administrative centre of Perm Krai, Russia. The Netherlands men's national basketball team ( nl, Het Nederlands nationaal basketbalteam) represents the Netherlands in international basketball matches. Paul Vervaeck
Paul Vervaeck (born 7 March 1956) is a Belgian former professional basketball coach. He coached several clubs in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, as well as the Belgium national under-20 and Netherlands national under-18 teams. Coaching career Born in Mechelen, Vervaeck began his coaching career as an assistant with Maes Pils Mechelen in 1987. The following years he went on to coach Duvel Willebroek, Bree, Den Helder (in the Netherlands), CEP Fleurus, AB Contern (in Luxembourg), Kangoeroes. In 2013, Vervaeck took over his biggest club thus far when he became the head coach of the Antwerp Giants. On 16 June 2016 Vervaeck was announced as head coach of ZZ Leiden. The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Since 2021, the league has been replaced by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. The league had a closed system: to participate, a team has to have enough money and potential. The 2016–17 Dutch Basketball League was the 57th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands.
