Marieke Nivard
Marieke Nivard (born 14 June 1990) is a professional golfer from the Netherlands who played on the Ladies European Tour. In 2011, she won two LET Access Series tournaments and topped the LETAS Order of Merit. Early life and amateur career Nivard was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1990 and was introduced to golf at age 8 by her father. She enjoyed success as an amateur. She won silver at the 2007 European Girls' Team Championship, losing the final at Oslo Golf Club in Norway to a Swedish team with Jacqueline and Caroline Hedwall. In 2008, she won both the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy and the German Girls Open. She finished 6th at the European Ladies Amateur Championship and played in the European Ladies Golf Cup, a professional event, with Marjet van der Graaff where they placed 4th. Career Amateur Tidy started her amateur career in 2009, where she competed in the British Ladies Amateur. Tidy finished in the final 16 that year. The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium. The 2010 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 20–23 October at the Olivos Golf Club and Buenos Aires Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the 24th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were a record 52 team entries, each with two or three players. Each team played two rounds at Olivos and two rounds at Buenos Aires.
