Marie-Therese Obst
Marie-Therese Obst (born 7 January 1996) is a German-Norwegian javelin thrower. She is a European Throwing Cup (2024), NCAA (2021) and Norwegian national (2015) champion, and a European Championships (2024) bronze medalist. Obst has also won the Nordic Junior Championships (2015) and multiple national titles at junior level, in addition to being the Norwegian U20 record holder with a mark of 57.44 metres. Biography Obst was born in Berlin, Germany, but moved to Moss, Norway when she was 9 years old. She moved to Oslo in 2012 and won her first national gold medal in javelin throw at junior level that same year. She competed in her first global competition at the 2013 World U18 Championships in Athletics, finishing 19th in the qualifying round. European Throwing Cup
The European Throwing Cup (until 2016 European Cup Winter Throwing) is an annual continental athletics competition for athletes specialising in the events of discus, javelin and hammer throwing and the shot put. The winter event, organised every March by the European Athletics Association, is intended as a counterbalance to the fact that indoor track and field meetings cannot host the longer throwing events. It allows athletes who specialise in throwing events to gauge their form for the forthcoming outdoor athletics season. Glenoid Labrum
The glenoid labrum (glenoid ligament) is a fibrocartilaginous structure (not a fibrocartilage as previously thought) rim attached around the margin of the glenoid cavity in the shoulder blade. The shoulder joint is considered a ball and socket joint. However, in bony terms the 'socket' (the glenoid fossa of the scapula) is quite shallow and small, covering at most only a third of the 'ball' (the head of the humerus). The socket is deepened by the glenoid labrum, stabilizing the shoulder joint. The labrum is triangular in section; the base is fixed to the circumference of the cavity, while the free edge is thin and sharp. It is continuous above with the tendon of the long head of the biceps brachii, which gives off two fascicles to blend with the fibrous tissue of the labrum. 2014 World U20 Championships In Athletics
The 2014 World Junior Championships in Athletics was an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors (born 1995 or later) which was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA, on 22–27 July 2014. A total of 44 athletics events were contested at the championships, 22 by male and 22 by female athletes. A total of 1546 athletes from 175 countries were participate.
