Marianne Jodoin
Marianne Jodoin (born January 12, 1993) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. She was doubles champion at the $50,000 Toronto Challenger in 2009 (with Maureen Drake). Jodoin grew up in Varennes and had her breakthrough in junior tennis when she won the Canadian national U-16 indoor championships. In 2010 she qualified for the junior draw of the Australian Open and represented Canada at the Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Mashona Washington (born May 31, 1976) is a retired tennis player from the United States. Her career-high singles ranking is No. 50, achieved on November 8, 2004. On July 18, 2005, she peaked at No. 55 in the doubles rankings. Washington retired from professional tennis in 2012, aged 36.
