Marianafoot
Marianafoot (foaled 25 March 2015) is a French Thoroughbred racehorse. He won two minor races as a two-year-old in 2017 and two more races including the Listed Prix Luthier in the following year. In 2019 he won a valuable race in Qatar and a second Prix Luthier but appeared to be just below top-class as he was well-beaten when competing in Group races in Europe. After an injury disrupted 2020 campaign he emerged as a leading sprinter in the following year when he was unbeaten in seven races including the Prix Servanne, Prix du Palais-Royal, Prix de la Porte Maillot and Prix Maurice de Gheest. The Prix de la Porte Maillot is a Group 3 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 1,400 metres (about 7 furlongs), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late June or early July. History The event is named after the Porte Maillot, a gateway to the Bois de Boulogne. It has been staged since 1867, although in its earlier years it was a minor race. The profile of the Prix de la Porte Maillot was raised when it became part of the prestigious Grand Prix de Paris meeting in 1952. From this point it was contested over 1,600 metres, and it was shortened to 1,400 metres in 1955. The Prix Maurice de Gheest is a Group 1 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at Deauville over a distance of 1,300 metres (about 6½ furlongs), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August. History The event was established in 1922, and it was originally contested over 1,400 metres. It was named in memory of Maurice de Gheest (1850–1920), a member of the Société des Courses de Deauville, a former governing body at the venue. Deauville Racecourse was closed during World War II, and the Prix Maurice de Gheest was cancelled in 1940. For the remainder of this period it was switched between Maisons-Laffitte (1941–43, 1945) and Auteuil (1944). It returned to Deauville in 1946, and it was cut to 1,300 metres in 1966. Footstepsinthesand (foaled 15 February 2002) is a retired, undefeated Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire who was bred in the United Kingdom but trained during his racing career in Ireland. He won both his races as a two-year-old in 2004 and won the 2000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket on his three-year-old debut in 2005. Footstepsinthesand sustained an injury during the race and never ran again, retiring to stud undefeated after a career of only three races. Background Footstepsinthesand is a bay horse standing 16.1 hands high, bred at Cheveley, near Newmarket, Suffolk by Anthony Oppenheimer's Hascombe and Valiant Stud. Pierre-Charles Boudot (born 21 December 1992) is a French flat racing jockey. He was French flat racing Champion Jockey in 2015, 2016 and 2020. Boudot rode Waldgeist to win Europe's biggest race the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in 2019. In May 2021 Boudot has been suspended for three months by the France Galop as he is under investigation over rape allegation. The track surface of a horse racing track refers to the material of which the track is made. There are three types of track surfaces used in modern horse racing. The style of racing differs between surfaces, with dirt races tending to have the fastest pace, while turf racing often comes down to a sprint in the stretch. Hippodrome Deauville-La Touques is a race track for thoroughbred horse racing located in Deauville in the Calvados département, in the Normandy ''région'' of France. Originally called Hippodrome de la Touques, it was named for the Touques River that separates the city of Deauville from Trouville-sur-Mer. Polydream (horse)
Polydream was an alternative rock band hailing from Madison, Wisconsin. Formed in 2003, the band released an EP, titled ''A Rigid Shard of Balance: 1'', and released its first full-length album, titled ''Send Me to the Sun'', on December 15, 2007. Polydream gained much of its fame in being named "New Artist of the Year" at the Madison Area Music Awards in 2007. History Lucas Etten and Jonathan Knudson formed a cover band called The Cadavers in Medford, Wisconsin in 1998.
