Maria Lundqvist
Annika Maria Lundqvist (born 14 October 1963) is a Swedish actress and comedian. Born in Gothenburg, Lundqvist studied acting at the Gothenburg Theatre Academy and has since been acting at various Swedish theatres, including the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. Her breakthrough as a comedian came when she portrayed a comic character named ''Sally'' in a TV-show with the same name in 1998. She has also starred in musicals in Sweden. For her film acting, she has received two Guldbagge awards. She had a leading role in the 2015 comedy film En underbar jävla jul. She has four children, one of them is actor Anton Lundqvist. ''Involuntary'' ( sv, De ofrivilliga) is a 2008 Swedish film directed by Ruben Östlund described as "a tragic comedy or comic tragedy." It features five parallel stories with human group behaviour as the common theme. The film is notable for its long takes with no cuts within the scenes. This is related to Östlund's background as a skiing film director, where a cut would only indicate failure. The longest scene lasts for seven minutes. The film received mainly positive reviews. It has won several awards at international film festivals and was nominated for five Swedish Guldbagge Awards including Best Film, but didn't win in any category. The Swedish Film Institute ( sv, Svenska Filminstitutet) was founded in 1963 to support and develop the Swedish film industry. The institute is housed in the ''Filmhuset'' building located in Gärdet, Östermalm in Stockholm. The building, completed in 1970, was designed by architect Peter Celsing. Function The Swedish Film Institute supports Swedish filmmaking and allocates grants for production, distribution and public showing of Swedish films in Sweden. It also promotes Swedish cinema internationally. Furthermore, the Institute organises the annual Guldbagge Awards. The Swedish Film Database is published by the institute. ''Deadline'' is a 2001 Swedish thriller. It was released in the US as ''The Bomber'' which is a direct translation of its original Swedish title ''Sprängaren'' which is the same as the novel by Liza Marklund from which it was adapted. It stars Helena Bergström, Örjan Ramberg, Ewa Fröling and Pernilla August amongst others. The film was directed by Colin Nutley, who is also married to the lead actress Helena Bergström. Plot Annika Bengtzon, an up-and-coming young reporter for Kvällspressens newspaper, is called to the scene of a possible terrorist attack on the new Olympic Arena, Victoria Stadium in Stockholm, where the northern part of the arena has been blown to pieces.
