Maria Angelica Cayuna
Maria Angelica Cayuna (born August 17, 1998) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. Cayuna played for the Far Eastern University collegiate women's University team. She is currently plays for the Cignal HD Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League. Volleyball career UAAP Cayuna played for the FEU Lady Tamaraws collegiate women's University. She made her debut as a Setter of the team in 2016. In 2019, she became the captain of the FEU Lady Tamaraws. In 2020, Cayuna made her final year in the UAAP Season 82 volleyball tournaments but eventually, the matches of the tournament was canceled due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. PVL Cayuna also joined United Volleyball Club in the Premier Volleyball League. She also signed in the PayMaya High Flyers in 2018. In 2021, she make her comeback in the Premier Volleyball League when she was signed by the Perlas Spikers. In 2022, she was signed by the Cignal HD Spikers. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. UAAP Season 79
UAAP Season 79 (also known as UAAP LXXIX) is the 2016–2017 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas officially opened on September 3, 2016. The opening ceremony was held at the UST Plaza Mayor at 3:00 pm with the formal introduction of ballroom dancing as a demonstration sport in this season by the host school University of Santo Tomas (UST) at España, Manila. The official ceremony started at 5:00 pm as there was a concert party themed "Dare to Dream" where the official theme song for the season was revealed. However, unlike in the previous years when the first double-header basketball games were held following the opening ceremonies, this year it was held the following day, September 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the thirteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''40th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its fourth conference as a professional league. The tournament began on 8 October and finished on 6 December 2022. This is the first reinforced conference in three years, since the last reinforced was commenced way back in 2019. 2022 PVL Invitational Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference was the twelfth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''39th conference of the former Shakey's V-League conference results, Shakey's V-League'') and its third conference as a professional league. The tournament began on July 9, 2022. Originally slated for the July 2, the tournament was pushed back due to the requests of the club teams. This is the first (''second for the former Shakey's V-League conference results, SVL'') conference of the league to commence an invitational conference. A total of eight teams will compete in this event, including one international team — KingWhale Taipei from Taiwan. PLDT Home Fibr Hitters
The PLDT High Speed Hitters (formerly the Smart Giga Hitters and the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters) is the professional women's volleyball team owned by PLDT. History The team debuted in 2018 as the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters. The team was owned by Smart Communications. For the 2018 PSL Invitational Cup, the team partnered with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers and competed as the Smart–Army Giga Hitters. In September 2018, the PayMaya High Flyers, their affiliate team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), was merged with the team. In February 2019, the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters changed its name to the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters. The team transferred to the PVL in February 2021, following the league's professionalization. 2018 PVL Reinforced Conference
The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the fourth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (31st conference of the former Shakey's V-League conference results, Shakey's V-League). Conference will start on April 27, 2018 with a Grand Fans Day at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City, 9 days before its opening ceremonies and games on May 6, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, San Juan City, Philippines. UAAP Season 80 is the 2017–18 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season was hosted by the Far Eastern University. The eight member universities of the UAAP competed in the league's 28 events from 15 sports to vie for the overall championship.
