Mari Saris
Mari Saris (born September 1, 1958) in a former Dutch professional ice hockey player. He played 25 seasons for Nederlandse IJshockey Bond clubs and for the Nederlands at the 1981 World Ice Hockey Championships. He was born in 's-Hertogenbosch. Saris began as 14-year-old with his hometown club 's-Hertogenbosch Red Eagles in 1974 and remained with the club until 1986. A forward, his best seasons offensively were 1983-4 when he scored 69 points in 43 games and 1985-6 went he got an impressive 68 points in just 26 games. Mari played at the 1981 World Championships for the Netherlands in Pool A, the only time the country has appeared in the top tier in the tournament. He scored 2 goals and an assist in 7 games in the tournament. It was his only time to appear for the full national side. After leaving 's-Hertogenbosch, Saris joined Rotterdam Pandas in 1986. The 's-Hertogenbosch Red Eagles are an ice hockey team in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. Previously part of the BeNe League, they have played in the Eerste Divisie since the 2017–2018 season. Rotterdam Pandas
Rotterdam Panda's was a professional ice hockey team in Rotterdam, Netherlands. They played in the Dutch Eredivisie, the highest-level hockey division in the Netherlands. Home games were played at the Weena-ijshal, a (now-closed) arena near Rotterdam Central train station. History Ice hockey had been played in Rotterdam since the 1950s. The Rotterdam Panda's team played six seasons in the Eredivisie, winning its first national championship during its first season. It attracted several players from other teams in the Eredivisie, especially Nijmegen. The team sported a green and white jersey with the logo of the World Wildlife Fund panda as a crest. Securing a home arena was a major problem for the Panda's. The Weena-ijshal shut its doors in 1993. Geleen Smoke Eaters Players
Geleen (; li, Gelaen ) is a city in the southern part of the province of Limburg in the Netherlands. With 31,670 inhabitants in 2020, it is part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen. Geleen is situated along the river Geleenbeek, a right tributary to the river Meuse. The Latin name for Geleenbeek is ''Glana'', meaning "clear river". Eredivisie (hockey)
The ''Eredivisie'' ("Premier League") was, during its existence, the only professional ice hockey league in the Netherlands and the highest level of competition organized by the Nederlandse IJshockey Bond (NIJB; English: "Dutch Ice Hockey Federation"). Formed in 1945 and playing continuously since 1964, the league mainly featured Dutch teams, although in some seasons certain Belgian teams competed. The league featured a mix of Dutch, European and overseas players. The winner of the Eredivisie was crowned the Dutch National Champion and represented the Netherlands in the IIHF Continental Cup.
