Margi Clarke
Margi Clarke (born 25 May 1954) is an English actress and radio and television presenter. She had a leading role in the film ''Letter to Brezhnev'' (1985), a low-budget film which had an international release. Later, Clarke played Jackie Dobbs in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (1998–1999, 2008–2010). Early life and career Clarke was born and raised in Kirkby, Liverpool. Her career as a presenter began in 1978 on the late-night television magazine show ''What's On'', broadcast only in the Granada region. She was known as Margox in the early 1980s when performing in punk bands. In 1983, Clarke appeared as Fran in two early episodes of the Liverpool-set Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'', credited as Margi MacGregor. Kirkby
Kirkby ( ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. The town, historically in Lancashire, has a size of is north of Huyton and north-east of Liverpool. The population in 2016 was 41,495 making it the largest in Knowsley and the 9th biggest settlement in Merseyside. Liverpool Playhouse
The Liverpool Playhouse is a theatre in Williamson Square in the city of Liverpool, England. It originated in 1866 as a music hall, and in 1911 developed into a repertory theatre. As such it nurtured the early careers of many actors and actresses, some of whom went on to achieve national and international reputations. Architectural changes have been made to the building over the years, the latest being in 1968 when a modern-style extension was added to the north of the theatre. Debbie Horsfield
Debbie Horsfield (born 1955) is an English theatre and television writer and producer. Early life and career Horsfield was born in Urmston and she attended Eccles Grammar School and Eccles College before studying at Newcastle University, where she gained a BA Honours degree in English Language and Literature. Horsfield worked at the Gulbenkian Studio, Newcastle (1978–80), and for Trevor Nunn at The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), 1980–82. Her first plays ''Out on the Floor'' and ''Away from it All'' were produced at the Theatre Royal Stratford East studio and ''All You Deserve'' was performed as part of an RSC Festival at the Barbican. Paula Elizabeth Yates (24 April 1959 – 17 September 2000) was a British television presenter and writer. Yates is best known for her work on two television programmes, '' The Tube'' and ''The Big Breakfast''. She was the girlfriend of musician Bob Geldof from 1976 to 1986 and was married to him from 1986 to 1996. "Rent" is a song by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys from their second studio album, ''Actually'' (1987). It was released as the album's third single on 12 October 1987. Song information The lyric is commonly thought to deal with a financially one-sided relationship, i.e. that of a kept man, the title implying more specifically the lot of a rent boy. Neil Tennant, however, stated in the ''Actually: Further Listening'' liner notes: It peaked at number 8 in the British charts. Producer Stephen Hague remixed the song for single release.
