Margaretha Dros-Canters
Mence Dros-Canters (5 March 1900 – 14 August 1934) was a Dutch female hockey, badminton- and tennis player who was active from the 1920s until her death in 1934. She won seven national tennis titles and made 12 appearances in the Dutch national hockey team. Sports career Tennis Dros-Canters became Dutch doubles tennis champion six times between 1927 and 1933. In addition she won the national mixed doubles title in 1930. Between 1925 and 1931 she participated in five Wimbledon Championships. Her best result in the singles event was reaching the fourth round in 1930, losing in straight sets to eventual champion and World no.1 Helen Wills-Moody. Margaretha Hofmans
Greet Hofmans (23 June 1894 – 16 November 1968) was a Dutch faith healer and "hand layer". For nine years she was a friend and advisor of Queen Juliana, often residing at Palace Soestdijk. She became the former Dutch queen's confidante in the 1950s, but was removed from the royal court after an affair that in the Netherlands is often referred to by her name, the ''Greet Hofmans affair''. Court crisis 1948–1956 Hofmans was introduced at the Dutch Royal Court on the initiative of Prince Bernhard in 1948 to treat the eye sickness of Princess Maria Christina. This illness arose after Juliana was infected with rubella during the pregnancy. Hofmans developed a great influence on the queen, encouraging pacifist ideas. Margaretha Heijkenskjöld
Margaretha Charlotta Heijkensköld (19 August 1781 – 29 July 1834, Remla, Syria), was a Swedish traveler and a dress reformer. She attracted a lot of attention from her contemporaries by her journeys. Margaretha Heijkensköld was the daughter of the noble Councillor Detlof Heijkensköld the Younger (1751–1824) and Lovisa Ulrica Victorin (1756-1825). Late in life, she inherited a fortune, which she used to finance her interest in foreign travel and the study of foreign culture. She was described as an independent person with a great ability to adapt. She never married, and the fact that she traveled, and traveled alone, in a period when women seldom did the first and never the second, drew a lot of attention. Marcha (born Margaretha Hendrika Maria Groeneveld on 2 July 1956), also known as Marga Bult, is a Dutch singer and television presenter, who has been a member of the groups Tulip, Babe (Dutch band), Babe and Dutch Divas and is also known for her participation in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest. Tulip and Babe In 1979, Marcha joined forces with former Teach-In singer Marianne Wolsink to form the duo Tulip. They had only released two singles however when, in 1981, Marcha was chosen from over 200 candidates as the replacement for the departing lead singer Gemma van Eck in girl group Babe, who had established themselves since 1979 as regular chart performers, with six top 30 singles in the Netherlands.
