Marcha
Marcha (born Margaretha Hendrika Maria Groeneveld on 2 July 1956), also known as Marga Bult, is a Dutch singer and television presenter, who has been a member of the groups Tulip, Babe (Dutch band), Babe and Dutch Divas and is also known for her participation in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest. Tulip and Babe In 1979, Marcha joined forces with former Teach-In singer Marianne Wolsink to form the duo Tulip. They had only released two singles however when, in 1981, Marcha was chosen from over 200 candidates as the replacement for the departing lead singer Gemma van Eck in girl group Babe, who had established themselves since 1979 as regular chart performers, with six top 30 singles in the Netherlands. Known as Marga Bult during this time, she recorded two albums and 14 singles with Babe, and toured extensively across Europe and Asia, before the group disbanded in June 1986. Rechtop In De Wind
The Netherlands was represented by Marcha (Marga Bult), with the song "Rechtop in de wind", at the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Brussels on 9 April. The song was the winner of the Dutch national final for the contest, held on 25 March. Before Eurovision Nationaal Songfestival 1987 The national final was held at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague, hosted by Astrid Joosten. Six songs, all performed by Marcha, took part, with the winner being decided by juries in the twelve Dutch provinces, who each awarded a minimum of 5 points and a maximum of 30 points per song. "Rechtop in de wind" emerged an easy victor, the outright choice of nine of the juries, with a winning points margin of almost twice the number separating the other five songs. The Eurovision Song Contest 1996 was the 41st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 18 May 1996 at the in Oslo, Norway. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (NRK) and presented by Norwegian journalist and television presenter Ingvild Bryn and Norwegian singer Morten Harket, the contest was held in Norway following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Secret Garden. Nationaal Songfestival
(; ) was an annual music competition, which was originally organised by the Dutch public broadcaster (NTS), and later by the (NOS) and (TROS). It was staged almost every year between 1956 and 2012 to determine the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival has produced four Eurovision winners and eight top-five placings for the Netherlands at the contest. Due to declining interest in the competition and the Netherlands' poor performance in the Eurovision Song Contest in the late 2000s and early 2010s, it was decided that the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 would be internally selected. Frizzle Sizzle were a Dutch teenage girl group of the 1980s. The four members of the group were Karin Vlasblom (born 10 August 1967), Laura Vlasblom (born 8 October 1968), Mandy Huydts (born 9 April 1969) and Marjon Keller (born 1 June 1970). History Early years: Kinderen voor Kinderen The girls debuted in 1981 on the second album of Kinderen voor Kinderen, a children's choir whose ongoing television-shows are broadcast by VARA each November. All four of them were given a lead vocal; Karin in ''Gastarbeider'' (a song about a forbidden love between a Dutch girl and a Greek boy), Mandy in ''Bijna brugklas'' (about the transition from primary to secondary school) and Marjon in ''Roken'', an anti-smoking tirade. Babe (Dutch Band)
Babe was a Dutch girl-pop band in the 1970s and 1980s. The producer was Peter Koelewijn. History Babe was designed after Luv', another very famous Dutch girl-pop band, mostly performing bubblegum pop. The trio was formed by producer and performer Peter Koelewijn, and he produced all of their records. The only exception was the single ''Tick-a-thumps my heart'' which was produced by Hans van Hemert, the producer behind Luv'. Koelewijn had made this decision because he felt a change in sound was needed for the trio. However, fans did not appreciate the new sound, which was very much like Luv' because it no longer featured the recognizable solo vocals by Gemma Van Eck, but instead was sung in harmony by all three singers, so Koelewijn decided to take production back. The Eurovision Song Contest 1987 was the 32nd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Brussels, Belgium, following the country's victory at the with the song "J'aime la vie" by Sandra Kim. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster RTBF, Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF), the contest was held at the Brussels Expo, Centenary Palace on 9 May 1987 (also Europe Day) and was hosted by French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo. Gerard Jan Joling (born 29 April 1960) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. Known for his high tenor voice, he rose to fame in the late 1980s and released a string of singles including "Ticket to the Tropics" and "Love Is in Your Eyes". He also achieved success in Asia and received more than 20 gold and platinum records. In 1988, he was the Dutch participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, with the song "Shangri-La".
