Margaret Strelow
Margaret Fay Strelow is an Australian politician who served as the Mayor of the Rockhampton Region from April 2012 to November 2020. Prior to her election as mayor of the newly amalgamated Rockhampton Region, Strelow served as a councillor for the City of Rockhampton from 1997 to 2000, and Mayor of the City of Rockhampton from 2000 to 2008. Rockhampton Region
The Rockhampton Region is a local government area (LGA) in Central Queensland, Australia, located on the Tropic of Capricorn about north of Brisbane. Rockhampton is the region's major city; the region also includes the Fitzroy River, Mount Archer National Park and Berserker Range. The City of Rockhampton was a local government area in the Central Queensland region of Queensland, Australia, encompassing most of the suburban area of the regional city of Rockhampton. The 2017 Queensland state election was held on 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland. The first-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, won a second term in government.
