Marcus Carr
Marcus Joshua Carr (born June 6, 1999) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Aris Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League and the EuroCup. He previously played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns of the Big 12 Conference, as well as the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. High school career In his first two years of high school, Carr played for St. Michael's College School in Toronto. As a freshman, he led his team to the quarterfinals of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) tournament. Carr scored as many as 49 points in a single game. In 2015, he won the Ontario All-Catholic Classic and was named most valuable player (MVP) after scoring 16 points in the final. As a sophomore, Carr averaged 16 points, four rebounds and five assists per game. He lost only one game in the season, to Roman Catholic High School, and won the OFSAA title. Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball
The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represents the University of Minnesota in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Golden Gophers competes in the Big Ten Conference and play their home games at the Williams Arena. The Gophers had great success in the early years of basketball, but have been largely overshadowed by other programs since the end of World War I. In total, the Gophers have won nine Big Ten championships, but only four since 1919. College basketball research organizations have retroactively awarded Minnesota national championships in 1902, 1903, and 1919. BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game
The BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game is an annual Canadian all-star game featuring high school basketball players. It was founded in 2015 by BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. and Canada Basketball. Originally a boys basketball game, the event was expanded to include a girls game in 2019. The games features the top 24 male and female high school basketball players either born in Canada or playing in the country. The Canadian game has drawn comparisons to America's McDonald's All-American Game. The first boys game was attended by upwards of 60 executives and scouts from the National Basketball Association (NBA). ''High School Showcase'', known under its corporate sponsored name as the ''GEICO High School Showcase'', is a presentation of high school football and high school basketball on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. Since debuting in 2005, it primarily airs on Friday at 8pm ET on ESPNU, following ''ESPNU Recruiting Insider'', but will occasionally air at various times and days on ESPN and ESPN2. Rowan Alexander "RJ" Barrett Jr. (born June 14, 2000) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) is an organization of student-athletes, teacher-coaches, student-coaches, teachers, principals, and sport administrators in Ontario, Canada.
