Marcus A. Anderson
Marcus Antone Anderson (born April 12, 1939) is a retired lieutenant general in the United States Air Force. He was the Inspector General of the Air Force from 1993 to 1996. Born in Everett, Washington, and raised in Monroe, Washington, Anderson graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. degree in 1961. He later earned an M.S. degree in systems management from the University of Southern California in 1972. He is a 1970 graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College and a 1977 graduate of the National War College. Anderson has held a variety of operational and staff assignments including commander of a fighter wing in United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), Commandant of Cadets of the United States Air Force Academy, commander of a Numbered Air Force in USAFE, and commander of the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center. Everett, Washington
Everett is the county seat and largest city of Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. Everett is the seventh-largest city in the state by population, with 110,629 residents as of the 2020 census. The city is primarily situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Snohomish River along Port Gardner Bay, an inlet of Possession Sound (itself part of Puget Sound), and extends to the south and west. The Port Gardner Peninsula was historically inhabited by the Snohomish people, who had a winter village named Hibulb near the mouth of the river. United States Air Force Academy
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is a United States service academy in El Paso County, Colorado, immediately north of Colorado Springs. It educates cadets for service in the officer corps of the United States Air Force and United States Space Force. It is the youngest of the five service academies, having graduated its first class in 1959, but is the third in seniority. Graduates of the academy's four-year program receive a Bachelor of Science degree and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force. The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross also known as the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross or Vietnam Cross of Gallantry ( vi, Anh-Dũng Bội-Tinh) is a military decoration of the former Government of South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam). The Vietnam Service Medal is a military award of the United States Armed Forces established on 8 July 1965 by order of President Lyndon B. Johnson. The Commendation Medal is a mid-level United States military decoration presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. Each branch of the United States Armed Forces issues its own version of the Commendation Medal, with a fifth version existing for acts of joint military service performed under the Department of Defense.
