Marco Paolini
Marco Paolini (born March 5, 1956) is an Italian stage actor, theatre director, dramaturge and author. Personal background Paolini is the son of a railroad engineer and a housewife from Belluno, Italy. In the 1970s, he moved to Treviso and started working in theatre. Professional background Paolini's repertory includes civil theatre. His performances usually consist of monologues with frequent use of the Venetian language, irony and satire. Inspired by Dario Fo, he is an Italian exponent of narrative theatre. Until 1994, Paolini worked with various theatre groups, including Teatro degli Stracci, Studio 900 of Treviso, Tag Teatro of Mestre in Venice and Laboratorio Teatro Settimo. In 1995, received the Ubu Prize for writing ''Il racconto del Vajont'' (translated: The Vajont Tale), which was dedicated to the disaster of the Vajont Dam in Italy. Belluno
Belluno (; lld, Belum; vec, Belùn) is a town and province in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Located about north of Venice, Belluno is the capital of the province of Belluno and the most important city in the Eastern Dolomites region. With its roughly 36,000 inhabitants, it is the largest populated area of Valbelluna. It is one of the 15 municipalities of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. Geography The ancient city of Belluno rises above a cliff spur near the confluence of the Torrente Ardo and the Piave River. ''Microsoft Encarta'' is a discontinued digital multimedia encyclopedia published by Microsoft from 1993 to 2009. Originally sold on CD-ROM or DVD, it was also available on the World Wide Web via an annual subscription, although later articles could also be viewed for free online with advertisements. Ustica Massacre
On 27 June 1980, Itavia Flight 870 (IH 870, AJ 421), a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 passenger jet en route from Bologna to Palermo, Italy, crashed into the Tyrrhenian Sea between the islands of Ponza and Ustica, killing all 81 people on board. Known in Italy as the Ustica massacre ("strage di Ustica"), the disaster led to numerous investigations, as well as legal actions and accusations; it continues to be a source of controversy, including claims of conspiracy by the Government of Italy and others. A 1994 report found the cause of the crash was a terrorist bomb, one in a years-long series of bombings in Italy. The Prime Minister of Italy at the time, Francesco Cossiga, attributed the crash to being accidentally shot down during a dogfight between Libyan and NATO fighter jets.
