Marco Matias (footballer)
Marco André da Silva Lopes Matias (born 10 May 1989) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for S.C. Farense as a forward. Club career Portugal Born in Barreiro, Setúbal District, Matias finished his youth career at Sporting CP. He never represented the first team officially as a senior, being consecutively loaned to Varzim SC, C.D. Fátima and Real SC, with all the clubs but the third competing in the Segunda Liga. Matias signed with Vitória S.C. in the summer of 2010, being immediately loaned to S.C. Freamunde of the second division for two years. He subsequently returned to Guimarães, making his debut in the Primeira Liga on 19 August 2012 by coming on as a 62nd-minute substitute in a 0–0 home draw against Sporting, and finished his first season with 20 scoreless appearances. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. Guimarães () is a city and municipality located in northern Portugal, in the district of Braga. Hillsborough Stadium is a 39,732-capacity association football stadium located in Owlerton, a north-western suburb of Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. It has been the home of Sheffield Wednesday since its opening in 1899. The ground has been substantially re-developed since 1899, with new stands on each side and the original South Stand having been substantially re-built in time for the UEFA Euro 1996 finals. Portuguese Football League System
The Portuguese football league system consists of several leagues bound together hierarchically by promotion and relegation. Reserve teams are allowed to compete in the main league system, as is the case with most of Europe.
