Marco Goldschmied
Marco Lorenzo Sinnott Goldschmied (28 March 1944 – 7 July 2022) was a British architect best known as co-founder and managing director of Richard Rogers Partnership. He was latterly involved with running the Marco Goldschmied Foundation and was a president of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 1998 he founded the Stephen Lawrence Prize alongside Doreen Lawrence, and in association with the RIBA. Career Goldschmied trained at the Architecture Association where he met two future partners, Mike Davies and John Young. In 1971 he was associate partner of the Piano + Rogers architecture practice which was established to design the competition-winning Centre Georges Pompidou. Goldschmied was co-founder of the Richard Rogers Partnership with Richard Rogers, Davies and Young in 1977, becoming managing director in 1984, and was involved in many of the major projects undertaken by the practice. Harrogate ( ) is a spa town and the administrative centre of the Borough of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. Elinor Goldschmied
Elinor Violet Goldschmied ( Sinnott; 15 December 1910 – 27 February 2009) was an English educationalist. Educated at the London School of Economics and qualified as a psychiatric social worker, she worked in an Italian state institution for illegitimate and abandoned children before moving to a home for single mothers in Milan, overseeing changes to the education of children and the training of staff, leading to a transformation of childcare in Italy. Goldschmied developed the concept of "heuristic play" as a means of relax play for babies under the age of two and for maintaining a special relationship with an individual member of staff. She also introduced a "treasure basket" containing non-dangerous household items in a low, open basket, an exploration task that was designed not to have any physical intervention from an overseeing adult. Heathrow Terminal 5 is an airport terminal at Heathrow Airport, the main airport serving London. Opened in 2008, the main building in the complex is the largest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom. Terminal 5 is currently used exclusively by British Airways and was exclusively used as one of the three global hubs of IAG, served by British Airways and Iberia until 12 July 2022 when Iberia moved all flights to Terminal 3.
