Marcin Bogusławski
Marcin Bogusławski (born 1980) is a Polish artist, painter, drawer, graphic and mural painter. He lives and works in Warsaw. Education Marcin Bogusławski has studied painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. During his studies (2000-2006) he attended also the guest workshop run by professor Leon Tarasewicz. ''En plein air'' (; French for 'outdoors'), or ''plein air'' painting, is the act of painting outdoors. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules that might create a predetermined look. The theory of 'En plein air' painting is credited to Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes (1750–1819), first expounded in a treatise entitled ''Reflections and Advice to a Student on Painting, Particularly on Landscape'' (1800), where he developed the concept of landscape portraiture by which the artist paints directly onto canvas ''in situ'' within the landscape. The University of Warsaw Library ( pl, Biblioteka Uniwersytecka w Warszawie, BUW) is a library of the University of Warsaw, Poland. History The library was founded in 1816 as a direct consequence of establishing The Royal Warsaw University. Samuel Linde, a linguist, lexicographer, educator and librarian, became its first director. The library initially housed mostly theological and historical Books, the collection was however enlarged by papers from other scientific fields thanks to the right to receive Legal deposits obtained in 1819. In 1831 the library, which served as a public library at that time, already housed 134,000 volumes of books, stored in Kazimierzowski Palace. After the fall of the November uprising the same year, the institution had been closed, and most of the collection taken away by Russian authorities to Saint Petersburg. Szydłów is a fortified town in Staszów County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in southeastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Szydłów. It lies approximately west of Staszów and south-east of the regional capital Kielce. The village has a population of 1,093. Szydłów's history dates to the 12th century. It gained its city rights in 1329 and lost them in 1869. The village contains several tourist attractions, including the 16th-century Szydłów Synagogue, several buildings and churches dating to the 14th century and the ruins of a castle from the same period. Marian Czapla
Marian Czapla (July 28, 1946 – January 12, 2016) was a Polish painter and graphic artist. Born on July 28, 1946, in Gacki near Szydłów, Czapla graduated from the School of Plastic Arts in Kielce. He then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and was a pupil of Stefan Gierowski (painting), Halina Chrostowska, and Joseph Pakulski (graphics). Czapla co-founded the art group Simplex S4, of which he was a member from 1974 to 1979. Since 1972 he has been a professor of painting at his former university. His works have been displayed at many solo exhibitions and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. The National Museum in Kielce held an exhibition from May 24 to July 28, 2002, which featured 155 pieces from three decades of Czapla's work. Staszów
Staszów is a town in southeastern Poland, in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship (historic province of Lesser Poland), about southeast of Kielce, and northeast of Kraków. It is the capital of Staszów County. The population is 15,108 (2010), which makes it the 8th largest urban center of the province. The area of the town is 26,88 km2, and its two rivers are the ''Desta'' and the ''Czarna Staszowska''.
