Marcelo Barbosa
Marcelo Silva Barbosa (born 1975) is a Brazilian guitarist and music teacher. He is a founder or member of other Brazilian bands like progressive metal act Khallice and former Angra vocalist Edu Falaschi's band Almah. He also is the founder and owner of GTR music school in his home city Brasília, and columnist of ''Cover Guitarra'', ''Guitar Class'' and ''Guitar Player'' magazines. Since September 2015, he also joined Angra, replacing Kiko Loureiro, who is now a member of Megadeth. Biography Barbosa began playing electric guitar when he was 11 years old. He was studying with several teachers, mainly with Allan Marshall. At 17 years old he already was a professional musician and a musical teacher in two musical schools in his home city Brasília. He then decided to establish his own one, focused on the electric guitar. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad :Fusion music genres, fusion music genre melding heavy metal music, heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified electric guitar, guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. Almah
''Almah'' ( ''‘almā'', plural: ''‘ălāmōṯ''), from a root implying the vigour of puberty, is a Hebrew word meaning a young woman ripe for marriage; despite its importance to the account of the virgin birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, scholars agree that it refers to a woman of childbearing age and has nothing to do with virginity. The Journey (Khallice Album)
Khallice is a Brazilian progressive metal act in founded in 1994. The band's founder Marcelo Barbosa (guitars) is the owner of GTR, a large guitar institute in Brasília, and currently is a member of Angra and Almah. Biography Khallice started in Brasília, Distrito Federal in 1994 as a cover band (playing Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple), but very soon the musicians began to create their own music. The band released two demos. The first demo of the band was done in their native Portuguese. Then they recorded the song Madman Lullaby, an English version of Balada do Louco (a hit of the Brazilian band Os Mutantes from the 1970s) for a Tribute CD to former Mutantes member, Arnaldo Baptista. Edu Ardanuy
Eduardo "Edu" Ardanuy (born June 20, 1967 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian guitarist who has worked with such bands as Dr. Sin, Anjos da Noite, Blezqi Zatzas, Supla and Eduardo Araújo. He was included in a 'Top 10 Greatest Guitar Players' ranking by the Guitar Player Magazine in 1998. He has also played with Steve Vai, being invited by him.
