Marcello Costalunga
Marcello Costalunga (5 January 1925 – 5 May 2010) was the Roman Catholic Titular Archbishop of Aquileia and an official of the Roman Curia. Born in Rome, he was ordained a priest on 27 March 1948 by Luigi Cardinal Traglia who at the time was an auxiliary bishop of Rome. Costalunga was appointed both as an official of the Roman Curia and a titular archbishop on 10 December 1990. The Titular Archbishop of Aquileia is the head of a titular see of the Roman Catholic church. The title is currently held by Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to Philippines. History The titular see is one of the last vestiges of the once powerful Patriarchate of Aquileia. It was suppressed in the eighteenth century. In 1968 Aquileia became a titular non-residential archbishopric. Luigi Cardinal Traglia
Luigi Traglia (3 April 1895 – 22 November 1977) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Vicar General of Rome from 1965 to 1968, and Dean of the College of Cardinals from 1974 until his death. Traglia was elevated to the cardinalate in 1960. Life and career in Church Traglia was born in Albano Laziale, and studied at the Pontifical Lateran University and Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Basilio Pompili on 10 August 1917, and then finished his studies in 1919. While teaching at the Pontifical Urbaniana University from 1919 to 1936, Traglia was also an official of the Sacred Congregations of Seminaries and Universities and of the Propagation of the Faith from 1927 to 1930. Giovanni Battista Re (born 30 January 1934) is an Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church whose service has been primarily in the Roman Curia. He was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2001. Justin Francis Rigali (born April 19, 1935) is an American cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the eighth Archbishop of Philadelphia, having previously served as Archbishop of St. Louis from 1994 to 2003, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 2003. Michele Cecchini (3 March 1920 – 26 April 1989) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who devoted his entire career to the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He became an archbishop in 1969 and served as an Apostolic Nuncio from 1969 until his death. Biography Michele Cecchini was born on 3 March 1920 in Lammari, Italy. Charles John Brown (born 13 October 1959) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has been serving as an apostolic nuncio since 2012.
