Marcel Toader
Marcel Toader (4 January 1963 – 3 August 2019) was a Romanian rugby union player and a businessman and media personality. He played as a wing. He was usually considered one of the best Romanian rugby wings of all time. Club career He played for Steaua București, from 1983/84 to 1986/87. He won the Romanian Rugby Championship three times in 1983/84, 1984/85 and 1986/87. International career Toader gathered 30 caps for Romania, from his debut in 1982 to his last game in 1990. He scored 3 tries during his international career, 12 points on aggregate. Cumpăna
Cumpăna is a commune in Constanța County, Northern Dobruja, Romania. Administration The commune includes the village with the same name, Cumpăna (historical name: Hașiduluc, tr, Haşiduluk). The village was mentioned under the name ''Hașiduluc'' for the first time in 1870 by Ion Ionescu de la Brad in his work "''Excursion agricole dans la plaine de la Dobroudja''". It was renamed to ''Cumpăna'' in 1926. Although still mentioned in the official documents as part of the Cumpăna commune, the village of Straja (historical name: ''Mahometcea'', tr, Mehmedçay) was abandoned to make way for the Danube-Black Sea Canal and its population moved to Cumpăna. Constanța () is a county ( județ) of Romania on the border with Bulgaria, in the Dobruja region. Its capital city is also named Constanța. Demographics In 2011, it had a population of 684,082 and the population density was 96/km2. The degree of urbanization is much higher (about 75%) than the Romanian average. Periș
Periș is a commune in the far northwestern corner of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. The commune is composed of three villages: Bălteni, Buriaș and Periș. It used to include Brătulești and Cocioc villages, until these were absorbed by other villages in the commune. In Romanian, its name means "a place where pear trees grow". Geography Periș is situated on the border of the county with Dâmbovița and Prahova counties, north of the capital city, Bucharest. Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua București, commonly known as CSA Steaua București () or simply Steaua, is a major multi-sports club based in Bucharest and run by the Ministry of National Defence. The Romania national rugby union team ( ro, Echipa națională de rugby a României) represents Romania in men's international rugby union competitions, nicknamed Stejarii (''The Oaks''), is long considered one of the stronger European teams outside the Six Nations. The 1987 Rugby World Cup was the first Rugby World Cup. It was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia – New Zealand hosted 21 matches (17 pool stage matches, two quarter-finals, the third-place play-off and the final) while Australia hosted 11 matches (seven pool matches, two quarter-finals and both semi-finals). The tournament was won by New Zealand, who were the strong favourites and won all their matches comfortably. New Zealand defeated France 29–9 in the final at Eden Park in Auckland.
