Marc Janssens
Marc Janssens (born 13 November 1968 in Duffel) is a Belgian former cyclo-cross cyclist. Professional from 1993 to 2001, he won the Belgian national cyclo-cross championship three times. He also won the Gazet van Antwerpen Trophy twice, placed third in the World Cup twice, and finished second in the 1996 Superprestige. After his racing career, he became a commentator of cyclo-cross competitions on the Flemish TV channel VT4. He is also currently a directeur sportif for the team. Duffel
Duffel () is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises only the town of Duffel proper. On 1 January 2020, Duffel had a total population of 17,664. The total area is 22.71 km² which gives a population density of 778 inhabitants per km². The area is namegiver to a certain type of coarse woolen cloth manufactured in this area from the 11th century, mainly used to make blankets, outdoor (army) coats and tot bags. Duffel again became a household name during and after World War II, in the meaning of a certain coat, designed with toggle-and-tow fastening and large hood. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
