Anthony Maras is a multi award-winning Greek-Australian film director, writer and producer born in Adelaide, South Australia. Maras' debut feature film ''Hotel Mumbai'' explores the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and stars Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher and Jason Isaacs. The film enjoyed strong critical and audience acclaim and had its international theatrical release in 2019 after its world premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was shot both on location in Mumbai and in Maras' native Australia. Čedo Maras
Čedo Maras (born January 21, 1959) is a retired football goalkeeper who played in Yugoslavia and Croatia. The most notable feat in his career was winning the 1988–89 Yugoslav First League as a member of FK Vojvodina. Club career Born in Sinj (SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia), Maras made his debut in the Yugoslav First League with NK Osijek in the 1978–79 season. In 1985, he joined Second League side RFK Novi Sad but soon after he moved to FK Vojvodina where he will play until 1990 and be part of the championship winning squad in 1989. Gordan Maras (born 13 June 1974) is a Croatian economist and politician who served as a minister at Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts at the Cabinet of Zoran Milanović from 2011 until 2016. Mate Maras (born 2 April 1939) is a Croatian translator. He has translated many famous classical and contemporary works from English, Italian and French into Croatian. He is the only man who translated the complete works of William Shakespeare into Croatian. His translation of Rabelais' ''Gargantua and Pantagruel'' earned him the ''grand prix'' of the French Academy. He wrote the first Croatian rhyming dictionary. Life and works He was born in the village of Studenci near Imotski. His mother was a traditional folk poet whose songs chronicled local events. The Croatian dialect spoken in Studenci was later used by Maras for his translation of the sonnets of Giuseppe Gioachino Belli, originally written in the Romanesco dialect.
