Mao Ayuth
Mao Ayuth ( km, ម៉ៅ អាយុទ្ធ; 8 July 1944 – 15 April 2021) was a Cambodian filmmaker and politician. One of the few filmmakers to survive the Khmer Rouge regime, he was noted, alongside Dy Saveth, Yvon Hem, and Bun Yim, as connecting Cinema of Cambodia, contemporary Cambodian cinema with its Cinema of Cambodia, golden age of the 1960s and 1970s. He died during the COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia, COVID-19 pandemic. Early life and career Mao Ayuth was born on 8 July 1944 in Srey Santhor District, Srey Sonthor District, Kampong Cham Province, in what was then the French protectorate of Cambodia. After graduating from a screenwriting programme in 1965, Ayuth began his career as an assistant at National Television of Cambodia, going on to become a programme director. Ieu Pannakar
Ieu Pannakar ( km, អៀវ បណ្ណាការ; 21 February 1931 – 10 May 2018) was a Cambodian film director and statesman. Among the first Cambodians to study film making, he was one of Cambodia's pioneering film directors. He was a co-founder (with fellow Cambodian director Rithy Panh) of Bophana: The Audio-Visual Resource Center - Cambodia. Hun Sen (; km, ហ៊ុន សែន, ; born 5 August 1952) is a Cambodian politician and former military commander who has served as the prime minister of Cambodia since 1985.
