Manuela Ósk Harðardóttir
Manuela Ósk Harðardóttir (born 29 August 1983) is an Icelandic beauty queen and a model. She was crowned Miss Reykjavik and Miss Iceland in 2002. She represented her country in Miss Scandinavia and was 1st runner-up. She also went to compete in Miss Universe 2003 in Panama City. She was hospitalized two days before the pageant, due to dehydration, and could not compete. Manuela married footballer Grétar Rafn Steinsson on 27 November 2007 in Alkmaar, Netherlands and they renewed their vows in 2009 in Reykjavik, Iceland. They got divorced in 2011. In 2016 she completed her B.A. degree in Fashion design from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik. Miss Iceland or Miss Universe Iceland ( is, Ungfrú Ísland) is a national beauty pageant in Iceland. Began 2023 the winner represents Iceland at Miss Universe pageant. History The competition has been carried out since 1950; in the first year it was called Miss Reykjavík (Ungfrú Reykjavík). Since 1955, the contest has taken place under the current name Miss Iceland. In the past, contest winners gained the right to represent Iceland in Miss Universe, Miss World or Miss International. As of 2009, the winner goes on to compete in Miss World. There are six regional preliminary contests in each of the five rural regions and in the capital Reykjavík. 20 to 24 candidates, three to four from each region, take part in the finals. ''Miss Scandinavia'' is a beauty pageant for Nordic females. The contest was merged with the Miss Baltic Sea pageant for the years 2007 and 2008 and after that the merged pageant was also discontinued. It was sponsored by MTV3. Miss Universe 2003, the 52nd Miss Universe pageant, was held on June 3, 2003 at the Figali Convention Center in Panama City, Panama. Amelia Vega of the Dominican Republic was crowned by Justine Pasek of Panama as her successor at the end of the event. This is the 1st time that Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss Universe. 71 contestants competed in this year. Alkmaar
Alkmaar () is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland, about 30 km north of Amsterdam. Alkmaar is well known for its traditional cheese market.
