Manuel Villegas (golfer)
Manuel Villegas Restrepo (born 3 December 1984) is a Colombian professional golfer who currently plays on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamérica. He is also the brother of PGA Tour player Camilo Villegas. Professional career After graduating from the University of Florida in 2007, Villegas turned professional in 2008 and marked his professional debut with a win at the 2008 Colombian Open. In 2009 Villegas played a number of events in South America including one win at the Máster Profesional on the Colombian golf tour. in 2010 Villegas played a number of events on the Web.com Tour and the Hooters Tour (now called the NGA Pro Golf Tour) making his only win of the season at the Woodcreek Classic on the Hooters Tour. The 2013 PGA Tour Latinoamérica, titled as the 2013 NEC Series-PGA Tour Latinoamérica for sponsorship reasons, was the second season of PGA Tour Latinoamérica, the main professional golf tour in Latin America, operated and run by the PGA Tour. Changes for 2013 The 2013 season was the first full season on the tour with the 2012 season having only operated for four months in 2012. 2011 World Cup (men's Golf)
The 2011 Omega Mission Hills World Cup was a golf tournament that took place 24–27 November on the Blackstone course at Mission Hills Haikou in Hainan, China. It was the 56th World Cup, and the first since 2009, when the tournament switched to being staged biennially. 28 countries competed as two player teams. The purse was increased from $5.5 million in 2009 to $7.5 million in 2011. The event was won by the United States, represented by Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland with a score of 264, 24 under par. Qualification and format The leading 18 available players from different countries in the Official World Golf Ranking qualified automatically on 18 July. World Cup (men's Golf)
The World Cup of Golf is a men's golf tournament contested by teams of two representing their country. Only one team is allowed from each country. The players are selected on the basis of the Official World Golf Ranking, although not all of the first choice players choose to compete. The equivalent event for women was the Women's World Cup of Golf, played from 2005 to 2008.
