Manolo (footballer, Born 1965)
Manuel Sánchez Delgado (born 17 January 1965), known as Manolo, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a striker. Over nine seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 292 matches and 96 goals, mainly with Atlético Madrid with whom he won two major titles. He also competed at that level with Murcia. Manolo represented Spain at the 1990 World Cup. Club career Born in Cáceres, Extremadura, Manolo grew up in the ranks of local CP Cacereño, making his senior debut with the club at the age of 17. After two years with CE Sabadell FC, the last in the Segunda División, he moved to Real Murcia in the same level, helping it promote to La Liga in the 1985–86 season then scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances the following campaign, with the team retaining their top-flight status. Manuel Sánchez (Monterrey, Nuevo León, July 27, 1950) is a Mexican economist with a wide-ranging professional career that includes positions in academics, banking, and central banking. He was nominated by President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa on April 23, 2009, as Deputy Governor and member of the Board of Governors aBanco de México Mexico's central bank, for a term that ends on December 31, 2016. His appointment was ratified by the Standing Commission of the Mexican Congress on May 27, 2009. Manuel Sánchez Torres (born 1 January 1960) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a forward. Almost all of his professional career was spent in the Netherlands, where he appeared for three different teams – mainly Twente – and played in nearly 250 official games. Football career Torres was born in Terrassa, Barcelona, Catalonia. When he was seven years old he moved with his parents to Almelo in the Netherlands, and he started his football career at local amateurs PH Almelo, being subsequently noticed and signed by Eredivisie club FC Twente. Antonio Manuel 'Manu' Sánchez Gómez (born 25 January 1979) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central midfielder. Club career Sánchez was born in Fuengirola, Province of Málaga. He came through the ranks of Real Madrid but never made it past the reserves; he was however included in their squad for the 2000 FIFA Club World Championship. He joined local Málaga CF in January 2002, being relatively used over five and a half seasons. Manu's best output came in the 2002–03 campaign, with six La Liga goals in 36 appearances – including a brace against Athletic Bilbao on 9 March 2003 for a 3–0 home win– with Málaga finishing 13th.
