Mansour Sattari
Mansour Sattari ( fa, منصور ستاری; also Romanized as Mansoor Sattari) (19 May 1948 – 5 January 1995) was an Iranian Air Force Brigadier general. After serving his compulsory military service in the Army Artillery branch, he joined the Iranian Military Academy and entered the Imperial Iranian Air Force in 1965 in the Ground Force branch. In 1971 he was sent to United States to attend a course in Advanced Radar Control and Battle Management. Upon his return to Iran he was employed as a Radar Defence Control Officer. He implemented many innovative plans to improve radar and counterattack systems that was learnt from the U.S. Air Forces, which proved helpful in disabling offensive capacities of the Iraqi Air Force during the Iran-Iraq War. Iraqi Air Force
The Iraqi Air Force (IQAF or IrAF) ( ar, القوات الجوية العراقية, Al Quwwat al Jawwiyah al Iraqiyyah}) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Iraqi Armed Forces. It is responsible for the defense of Iraqi airspace as well as the policing of its international borders. Houshang Seddigh
Houshang Seddigh ( fa, هوشنگ صدیق; 8 February 1948 – 8 July 2020) was an Iranian fighter pilot. He served as the commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, Air Force from 1983 to 1986. Seddigh ranked colonel when he was appointed to the position on 28 November 1983. According to Pierre Razoux, he was more dynamic than his predecessor Mohammad-Hossein Moeinpour and enjoyed the confidence of the Iranian establishment. Seddigh was replaced by Mansour Sattari in 1986. He died of COVID-19 in Tehran, Seddigh was 72. Fajr International Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival ( fa, جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; fa, جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February and April in Tehran since 1982. Hussainiya
A ḥosayniya or hussainiya (Arabic: حسينية ''husayniyya''), also known as an ashurkhana, imambargah, or imambara, is a congregation hall for Twelver Shia Muslim commemoration ceremonies, especially those associated with the Mourning of Muharram. Hussainiya is a multitude hall for the mourning of Muharram and other commemoration rituals of Shia that its name gets from Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad. Terminology A hussainiya is different from a mosque. The name comes from Husayn ibn Ali, the third of the Twelve Imams and the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The Shahid Sattari University of Aeronautical Engineering or Air University, is Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force's military academy. It was established in 1988 by the IRIAF general Mansour Sattari in Tehran, Iran, due to the necessity of providing a trained and capable manpower to the IRIAF. It trains its students in a numerous variety of subjects and roles related to the air force, such as fighter pilots , UCAV operators, flight & support engineers, radar control, electronics & missile development.
