Manolito Gafotas
''Manolito Gafotas'' is a 1994 children's novel written by the Spanish writer Elvira Lindo and illustrated by Emilio Urberuaga. It is the first of a series of novels about the adventures of a working class kid in Carabanchel that inspired two movies in 1999 and 2004 and a TV series. The novel has been translated into English as ''Manolito Four-Eyes''. The Kirkus review comments on its chatty, first person narrative and understated humor and describes it as "a classic in its native Spain." He is the executive chairman and founder of EXILE Content, a media company developing premium original content for audiences across the U.S. and Latin America. Exile is primarily penal expulsion from one's native country, and secondarily expatriation or prolonged absence from one's homeland under either the compulsion of circumstance or the rigors of some high purpose. Elvira Lindo
Elvira Lindo (born 23 January 1962 in Cádiz, Spain) is a Spanish journalist and writer. At the age of 12 Lindo moved to Madrid, where she studied journalism at Complutense University of Madrid. She did not get her degree, as she began to work in television and radio as a speaker, actress and scriptwriter. Her first novel was based on one of her fictional radio characters, the madrileño boy ''Manolito Gafotas'', who has become a classic of Spanish children's literature. Manolito is the son of a trucker and lives a humble life in the working-class quarter of Carabanchel.
