Pedro Paulo Soares Pereira (born 22 April 1970, São Paulo, Brazil), better known by the artistic name Mano Brown, is a Brazilian rapper, music producer and founding member of the hip hop group Racionais MC's, along with Ice Blue (Paulo Eduardo Salvador), Edi Rock (Edivaldo Pereira Alves) and KL Jay (Kleber Geraldo Lelis Simões). In 2008, ''Rolling Stone'' chose the 100 greatest artists in Brazilian music; Mano Brown was 28th. His debut solo album ''Boogie Naipe'' was nominated for the 2017 Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album. ''Raio-X do Brasil'' (X-Ray of Brazil) is the third album of the Brazilian hip hop group Racionais Mc's, released in 1993. In 1993, Racionais Mc's were already popular in the outskirts of São Paulo. That year, they recorded their third album, Raio-X do Brasil. The album was released at a party, with an estimated crowd of 10,000 people in the court of the samba school Rosas De Ouro. The most successful songs from this album were 'Fim De Semana No Parque' (Weekend in the Park) and 'Homem Na Estrada' (Man On The Road), both by Mano Brown, which became anthems at hip-hop parties and on radio stations throughout the country. Unlike previous albums, all marked by several long songs, Colors & Values presents several short and direct raps - the longest track is "The Evil and the Good", with exactly five minutes. ''Sobrevivendo no Inferno'' ("Surviving in Hell") is the fourth studio album of the Brazilian rap group Racionais MC's, released in December 1997. The album reached the mark of 1,500,000 copies sold, despite having been released by an independent record label. ''Sobrevivendo no Inferno'' was ranked 14th on the 100 Greatest Brazilian music albums of ''Rolling Stone'' magazine. A feature in the album is the presence of Biblical-inspired lyrics, as in the songs "Genesis" and "Capítulo 4, Versículo 3" (both by Mano Brown). The album is also heavy on lyrics discussing to social inequalities, poverty and racism. The big hits were "Diário de Um Detento" (based on the diary of Jocenir, former inmate of the Carandiru prison), "Fórmula Mágica da Paz" and "Mágico de Oz" (Edy Rock).
