Manji (Blade Of The Immortal)
Manji, also known as The Immortal, is a fictional character from the manga series ''Blade of the Immortal'' by Hiroaki Samura. A swordsman who was cursed by worms that give him immortality, Manji goes on a journey to get rid of his immortality and bodyguards the orphan Rin due to how similar he finds her to his late sister. In addition to appearing in the manga, Manji has appeared in the two series' animated adaptation where he is voiced by Tomokazu Seki and Kenjiro Tsuda in Japanese. Keith Silverstein and Andrew Love have been Manji's English voice actor. Samura created Manji as an ideal hero who would show always his strong form rather than a weakness. Takuya Kimura and Takashi Miike expressed difficulties in portraying Manji in the live-action film. Critical reception to the character has been generally positive, aimed towards his fight scenes and relationship with Rin. Blade Of The Immortal
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroaki Samura. The series is set in Japan during the mid- Tokugawa Shogunate period and follows the cursed samurai Manji, who has to kill 1,000 evil men in order to regain his mortality. The manga was originally published in Kodansha's ''Monthly Afternoon'' from June 1993 to December 2012 and compiled into thirty ''tankōbon'' volumes. A 2008 anime television series adaptation was produced by Bee Train. Also in 2008, the novel ''Blade of the Immortal: Legend of the Sword Demon'' was released in Japan by Kodansha. ''300'' is a 2006 American epic historical action film based on the 1998 comic series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. Both are fictionalized retellings of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Greco-Persian Wars. James Allen Mangold (born December 16, 1963) is an American filmmaker. , born in 1970 in Fukuoka, is a Japanese game designer. He is the CEO of the company CyberConnect2. He developed multiple games including the ''.hack'' franchise as well as adaptations of the anime series including ''Naruto'' and ''Dragon Ball''. Besides developing games, Matsuyama has participated in directing two ''.hack'' films as well as voicing a character from the series.
