Manitou Springs School District 14
Manitou Springs School District 14 is the main school district of Manitou Springs and its nearby communities (Cascade, Cedar Heights, Chipita Park, and Green Mountain Falls) at the western edge of El Paso County, Colorado. The district currently serves around 1400 students, about 30 percent of these being " choice" students who live outside of the district's immediate boundaries (usually coming from elsewhere in El Paso or Teller counties). It has the highest graduation rate in the Pikes Peak Region. The district has a 1-to-1 iPad Initiative for every student in grades five through twelve. Manitou Springs, Colorado
Manitou Springs is a home rule municipality located at the foot of Pikes Peak in western El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The town was founded for its natural mineral springs. The downtown area continues to be of interest to travelers, particularly in the summer, with many shops and restaurants, as well as a creekside city park. The main road through the center of town was one of the direct paths to the base of Pikes Peak. Barr Trail, which winds its way up Pikes Peak, is accessible from town. The subdivision Crystal Hills was added to the municipality in the 1960s. The city population was 4,992 at the 2010 United States Census. Cascade, Colorado
Cascade is an unincorporated community and U.S. Post Office in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The ZIP Code of the Cascade Post Office is 80809. It was a resort town, with 3 hotels, from the 1880s to the 1920s. Tourists traveled through Ute Pass on the Colorado Midland Railway, experiencing scenic views of Cascade canon and its falls during their journey. Carriage tours brought tourists up Pikes Peak to its summit. Tourism fell when the Manitou and Pike's Peak Cog Railway opened in 1892, and tourists were able to travel to the summit of Pikes Peak through Manitou Springs. When visitors traveled by automobiles, beginning in the 1920s, they had different needs and came in smaller numbers than the previous decades. The Town of Green Mountain Falls is a Statutory Town located in El Paso and Teller counties of the U.S. of State of Colorado. The town population was 646 at the 2020 United States Census with 622 residents in El Paso County and 24 residents in Teller County. Green Mountain Falls is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.
