PR 427 is informally known as Wilkes Avenue, its former name before Headingley split from the City of Winnipeg in the 1990s. PR 427 provides the southern boundary for Beaudry Provincial Park. Headingley (sometimes spelled Headingly) is a rural municipality in Manitoba, Canada. It is located directly west of Winnipeg and had a population of 3,579 people as of the 2016 census. The Trans-Canada Highway and the Assiniboine River run through the municipality. The unincorporated community of Headingley is situated within the municipality along Manitoba Provincial Road 334 near the Trans-Canada Highway. Beaudry Provincial Park
Beaudry Provincial Park is an approximately park located along the Assiniboine River west of the town of Headingley, Manitoba. Beaudry Provincial Park was designated a provincial park by the Government of Manitoba in 1974. The park is considered to be a Class III protected area under the IUCN protected area management categories. The park is located within the Winnipeg Ecodistrict in the Lake Manitoba Plain Ecoregion within the Prairies Ecozone. History Beaudry Provincial Park was assembled from several privately owned landholdings along the Assiniboine River. The major portion of the park is a landholding featuring five miles (8 km) of frontage on the south side of the river that had been owned by prominent Winnipeg businessman, mining entrepreneur and civic leader John Draper Perrin. Provincial Trunk Highways (PTH) 100 and 101, collectively known as the Perimeter Highway, form a beltway around the Canadian city of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Perimeter Highway is approximately in length and serves as a ring road around Winnipeg for through traffic. Kenora, Ontario
Kenora (), previously named Rat Portage (french: Portage-aux-Rats), is a city situated on the Lake of the Woods in Ontario, Canada, close to the Manitoba boundary, and about east of Winnipeg by road. It is the seat of Kenora District. The history of the name extends beyond the time of white settlers arriving in the region. The name Rat Portage had its origin in the Ojibwa name Waszush Onigum, which roughly translated, means portage to the country of the muskrats. A shortened and somewhat corrupted version, Rat Portage, was adopted by the Hudson’s Bay Company in naming their post, then located on Old Fort Island on the Winnipeg River.
