Mango Research Station
The Mango Research Station () is a Bangladesh government owned research centre specializing in the research of mango production and development. The centre has developed 12 hybrid species of mango in Bangladesh. History The Mango Research Station was established in 1985. It is administered by the Horticulture Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. It is located on a 30-acre campus in Chapainawabganj District. It is led by a chief scientific officer. In September 2020, the centre announced the development of Bari Mango-13, a new variety of hybrid mango developed using mangoes from Bangladesh and Florida Florida is a state located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Chapainawabganj District
Chapainawabganj (Bengali: চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ) is located in the north-western part of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rajshahi Division, and was formerly a sub-division of Malda district. The north and west part of Chapai Nawabganj is bounded by Malda and Murshidabad districts of India, the east by Naogaon District, and south-east by Rajshahi District. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) ( bn, বাংলাদেশ কৃষি গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউট) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of agriculture, that conducts research on all crops except rice, jute, sugarcane, and tea for which there are separate institutes. The central research station of the institute is at Joydebpur about north of Dhaka. History Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute traces its origins to Dhaka farm which was established in 1908. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute was established in 1976 as an autonomous research institute.
