Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat
The Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat (formally named Stade de la Revolution) in Brazzaville is one of the two national stadiums of the Congo national football team, along with the Stade Municipal de Kintélé. It is used for football matches and also has an athletics track and a handball court. It hosts the home games of CARA Brazzaville and Étoile du Congo. It holds 33,037 people. Congo Premier League is the top division of the Congolese Football Federation, in the Republic of the Congo. It was created in 1961. The official name is Championnat National MTN for sponsorship reasons. Between 1961 and 1977 the championship was decided in a 3-team tournament between the regional champions of Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire, and Niari. From 1978 to 1993, a nationwide league with 10 to 14 teams was played. From 1994 to 2008, the FECOFOOT reverted to a national play-off after the regional tournaments, with additional entries for the stronger leagues (Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire). The CAF Cup was an annual competition organised by the CAF for domestic leagues runners-up of member associations who have not qualified to the pre-existing CAF international club competition the African Cup of Champions Clubs. History The tournament was founded in 1992 modeled after the European UEFA Cup. Trophy named after Moshood Abiola, a Nigerian businessman, publisher and politician as well as being the first Director of Sports in independent Nigeria. The CAF Cup was the idea of the current CAF president, Issa Hayatou who successfully made 1992 the year of African football. The 2002 CAF Cup was the 11th edition of the CAF Cup, the African continental club competition for runners up of the respective domestic leagues. The 2001 CAF Cup was the 10th edition of the CAF Cup, the African continental club competition for runners up of the respective domestic leagues. It was won by Algerian team JS Kabylie who beat Étoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia on the away goals rule in the final, after the two teams finished level on aggregate 2-2. It was the second year in a row that JS Kabylie's won the competition after also winning the 2000 edition. Barel Mouko
Barel Morial Mouko (born 5 April 1979) is a Congolese professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Daring Club Motema Pembe. Club career Mouko was born in Pointe-Noire. He started his career at his home nation Congo, having a brief spell at Gabonese AS Stade Mandji, before playing amateur football in France. In 2003, he joined Dijon FCO and became the starter goalkeeper, achieving promotion from the Championnat National in his first season. He left the club in 2008, signing for FC Gueugnon in 2009. In the next season, Mouko was signed by his former Dijon manager, Rudi Garcia, to play for Lille OSC. At Lille, Mouko was a reserve to regular goalkeeper Steeve Elana. He made a few Ligue 1 appearances after Elana suffered a drop in form during 2013, but spent most of the playing time with the B team. He scored once in the 2013–14 Championnat de France amateur.
