Manatiales, Uruguay
Manantiales is a resort (''balneario'') in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. In the Spanish language in the Americas, a manantial means spring. Geography The resort is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, on Route 10, between its junction with Route 104 to the east and Laguna Blanca (which means White Lagoon) to the west. On its coastline is a small point called Punta Piedras. To the west of this point is the beach Las Olas Playa and to its east the beach Playa Bikini. Uruguay consists of 19 departments (''departamentos''). Each department has a legislature called a Departmental Board. The ''Intendente'' is the department's chief executive. Maldonado Department
The Maldonado Department ( es, Departamento de Maldonado; ), with an area of and 164,300 inhabitants (2011), is located to the southeast of Uruguay. Its capital is Maldonado. Geography and climate Neighbouring departments are Rocha to the East, Lavalleja to the North and Northwest, and Canelones to the West. Uruguay's calling code is +598. Since 2010, national long distance calling was eliminated, thus there are no area codes in each city. Landline telephony ANTEL (Spanish abbreviation for National Administration of Telecommunications) is Uruguay's state-owned company for telecommunications. Previously in Uruguay, phone numbers used to have between 4 and 7 digits. To make a local phone call, you only had to dial those digits. To make a call between two cities from different departments, you had to dial zero, plus area code, plus phone number. Route 10 (Uruguay)
Route 10 is a national route of Uruguay. In 1983, it was assigned the name Juan Díaz de Solís, honouring the Spanish navigator. The distance notation along Route 10 uses the same Kilometre Zero reference as Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and IB, which is the Pillar of Peace of Plaza de Cagancha in the Centro of Montevideo. La Barra is a resort in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. Location and geography The resort is located on Route 10, south of its junction with Ruta Interbalnearia. Its west coast is on the mouth of Arroyo Maldonado, while its south coast in on the Atlantic Ocean. It lies just across San Rafael - El Placer to the west, with which they are connected with the nearby bridge Puente de Barra de Maldonado, famous for its architecture.
