Christopher Scott Greenwood (born July 19, 1979), known by his stage name Manafest, is a Canadian Christian rapper and rock artist from Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He has won multiple awards for the GMA Canada Covenant Awards, GMA Dove Awards, and has been nominated for multiple Juno Awards. Signed for a decade with BEC Recordings, Manafest became independent in 2015. History After a skateboarding accident in 1998, Greenwood shifted his focus to musical writing. He and fellow rapper Jusachyl started a hip-hop group, Under One King. During this time, Greenwood used his skater nickname 'Speedy' as his moniker. In 2000, Greenwood shifted to the stage name Manafest and began to produce music independently. In 2001, Manafest debuted his EP, '' Misled Youth''. Pickering (2021 population 99,186) is a city located in Southern Ontario, Canada, immediately east of Toronto in Durham Region. ''Glory'' is the third studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on September 26, 2006 under BEC Recordings. The release contains the single "Impossible", featuring Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch. Critical reception The album received very positive reviews from most professional music sites and reviews. Justin Mabee of Jesus Freak Hideout praised the album saying: "Sophomore records seem to always be hard to make, even if a debut doesn't do as well as some artists would like. The Moment (Manafest Album)
''The Moment'' is the seventh studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on August 5, 2014 under BEC Recordings. The album was fan-funded through a PledgeMusic campaign. The album marks Manafest's final release with his long-time affiliate label BEC Recordings before moving to a fully independent status for his next album ''Reborn''. Critical reception The album received generally positive reviews from multiple professional music sites and reviews. Christian St. John of Christian Review Magazine showered compliments on the album saying: "Manafest has found himself on ''The Moment''. Joel Piper
Joel Piper (born October 18, 1985) is a Mexican singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, and disc jockey born in Sonora, Mexico. He most famously known for being the ex-drummer and clean vocalist for the metalcore band Confide (band), Confide from 2009 to 2013. As a solo musician, he has released three full-length studio albums and three EPs. Early life Joel Piper is half Native American and German. He was born on October 18, 1985, in Sonora, Mexico to missionary parents who resided in a humble cement home there for 5 years helping the less fortunate. He was raised there until he was 5, at just eighteen months old Piper started playing an actual drum beat on the couch with drum sticks cut in half by his father so his small hands could hold the sticks. PledgeMusic was an online direct-to-fan music platform, launched in August 2009. It was started to facilitate musicians looking to pre-sell, market, and distribute projects; such as recordings and concerts. ''Fighter'' is the sixth studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on April 10, 2012 under BEC Recordings. The album was, in majority, produced by Seth Mosley (of Newsboys producer fame). Critical reception The album received overall general positive praise from multiple professional music sites and reviews. Sarah Fine of New Release Tuesday gave the release very high praise and went on to state the album was "lyrically intense, the musicianship on this record is nearly flawless." With a fair amount of positive endorsement, Timothy Estabrooks of Jesus Freak Hideout stated that "''Fighter'' is a fun, upbeat rap rock album with a pleasantly encouraging message. The release was recorded at a show in Canada, during the Superchick Reinvention Tour in Fall, 2010. Critical reception The album received generally positive reception from professional music sites and reviews. Rick Anderson of AllMusic complimented the live release stating: "Chris Greenwood (aka Manafest) is generally billed as a Christian rapper, but on the evidence provided by his first live album, he's as much singer as rapper, and his style owes as much to metal as to hip-hop. ''The Chase'' is the fifth studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on March 30, 2010 under BEC Recordings, in association with Uprok Records. The single "Avalanche" off the release has sold 50,000 copies as of September 1, 2011. Critical reception The album was met with generally positive and praiseworthy reviews with many calling it Manafest's best album yet. Wayne Myatt of Jesus Freak Hideout positively highlighted the album and stated that "''The Chase'' is an enjoyable album with so much variety that it never seems to become tedious.
